CoreML crash on macOS 15.0 (24A335)
When I try to run basically any CoreML model using MLPredictionOptions.outputBackings , inference throws the following error: 2024-09-11 15:36:00.184740-0600 run_demo[4260:64822] [coreml] Unrecognized ANE execution priority (null) 2024-09-11 15:36:00.185380-0600 run_demo[4260:64822] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'Unrecognized ANE execution priority (null)' *** First throw call stack: ( 0 CoreFoundation 0x000000019812cec0 __exceptionPreprocess + 176 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x0000000197c12cd8 objc_exception_throw + 88 2 CoreFoundation 0x000000019812cdb0 +[NSException exceptionWithName:reason:userInfo:] + 0 3 CoreML 0x00000001a1bf6504 _ZN12_GLOBAL__N_141espressoPlanPriorityFromPredictionOptionsEP19MLPredictionOptions + 264 4 CoreML 0x00000001a1bf68c0 -[MLNeuralNetworkEngine _matchEngineToOptions:error:] + 236 5 CoreML 0x00000001a1be254c __62-[MLNeuralNetworkEngine predictionFromFeatures:options:error:]_block_invoke + 68 6 libdispatch.dylib 0x0000000197e20658 _dispatch_client_callout + 20 7 libdispatch.dylib 0x0000000197e2fcd8 _dispatch_l *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'Unrecognized ANE execution priority (null)' *** First throw call stack: ( 0 CoreFoundation 0x000000019812cec0 __exceptionPreprocess + 176 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x0000000197c12cd8 objc_exception_throw + 88 2 CoreFoundation 0x000000019812cdb0 +[NSException exceptionWithName:reason:userInfo:] + 0 3 CoreML 0x00000001a1bf6504 _ZN12_GLOBAL__N_141espressoPlanPriorityFromPredictionOptionsEP19MLPredictionOptions + 264 4 CoreML 0x00000001a1bf68c0 -[MLNeuralNetworkEngine _matchEngineToOptions:error:] + 236 5 CoreML 0x00000001a1be254c __62-[MLNeuralNetworkEngine predictionFromFeatures:options:error:]_block_invoke + 68 6 libdispatch.dylib 0x0000000197e20658 _dispatch_client_callout + 20 7 libdispatch.dylib 0x0000000197e2fcd8 _dispatch_lane_barrier_sync_invoke_and_complete + 56 8 CoreML 0x00000001a1be2450 -[MLNeuralNetworkEngine predictionFromFeatures:options:error:] + 304 9 CoreML 0x00000001a1c9e118 -[MLDelegateModel _predictionFromFeatures:usingState:options:error:] + 776 10 CoreML 0x00000001a1c9e4a4 -[MLDelegateModel predictionFromFeatures:options:error:] + 136 11 libMLBackend_coreml.dylib 0x00000001002f19f0 _ZN6CoreML8runModelENS_5ModelERNSt3__16vectorIPvNS1_9allocatorIS3_EEEES7_ + 904 12 libMLBackend_coreml.dylib 0x00000001002c56e8 _ZZN8ModelImp9runCoremlEPN2ML7Backend17ModelIoBindingImpEENKUlvE_clEv + 120 13 libMLBackend_coreml.dylib 0x00000001002c1e40 _ZNSt3__110__function6__funcIZN2ML4Util10WorkThread11runInThreadENS_8functionIFvvEEEEUlvE_NS_9allocatorIS8_EES6_EclEv + 40 14 libMLBackend_coreml.dylib 0x00000001002bc3a4 _ZZN2ML4Util10WorkThreadC1EvENKUlvE_clEv + 160 15 libMLBackend_coreml.dylib 0x00000001002bc244 _ZNSt3__114__thread_proxyB7v160006INS_5tupleIJNS_10unique_ptrINS_15__thread_structENS_14default_deleteIS3_EEEEZN2ML4Util10WorkThreadC1EvEUlvE_EEEEEPvSC_ + 52 16 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x0000000197fd32e4 _pthread_start + 136 17 libsystem_pthread.dylib 0x0000000197fce0fc thread_start + 8 ) libc++abi: terminating due to uncaught exception of type NSException Interestingly, if I don't use MLPredictionOptions to set pre-allocated output backings, then inference appears to run as expected. A similar issue seems to have been discussed and fixed here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/761649 , however I'm seeing this issue on a beta build that I downloaded today (Sept 11 2024). Will this be fixed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Workouts, activity rings, samples and more not syncing across devices running iOS 18 RC and watchOS 11 RC
I noticed last night that workouts I have been recording on my main carry device running 17.6.x have not been syncing to my beta devices running iOS 18 RC, iPadOS 18 RC and watchOS 11 RC. All devices are using the same Apple Account and I have iCloud enabled for Health data. The iPad running the RC has the syncing enabled in Profile. Is anyone else experiencing health data not propagating to the 18.x devices? Some of data exists on all devices but not all. For good measure I left the device unlocked on the health app last night for a long period of time to let it do its thing. This morning the data still hadn't propagated. I disabled and reenabled the synchronization on my iPad having chosen to delete all samples when disabling it. Hopefully all of my data dating back to the first Apple Watch in 2014 restores. FWIW my data set according to iCloud settings my health dataset is just shy of 650 MB. Drivers are not visible in iOS 18 Public beta
Hello team, I am using USBDriverKit and Driverkit framework in my application for communication of USB device. After updating my iPad OS to 18 public beta, I am unable to get option to enable drivers in my setting page of my application. However, I am able to see that options in developer beta version of iPad OS 18. Can anyone guide me, how should I proceed further as I am unable to use my USB devices.

XCode Cloud "Latest Release" set to RC
I have been investigating a recent breakage where apps being installed via Testflight are crashing on launch with no helpful crash reports, or even console-accessible logging. More detail: The app launches just fine on iPadOS 18 beta (ipad) but the same build doesn't work on iPadOS 17.6.1 At my wit's end, I checked the entire build environment - was I using XCode beta still somewhere? Well, in the XCode Cloud workflow, I had selected "Release" for the latest released version of XCode. And MUCH to my surprise, I see that XCode 16 RC is selected. Why? That's not released yet... Anyway, this is just a friendly PSA to check your XCode Cloud workflows if you choose "release" when new XCode releases are upcoming... or peg your XCode Cloud environment versions. And I still don't have an explanation why Testflight XCode 16 RC is producing builds that crash on iPadOS 17.6.1 (for us) but not the latest iPadOS 18 public beta...

navigationItem.title now showing in iOS 18 UITabBarController
navigationItem.title does not display on the first view controller in the new UITabBarController on iPad. Also, if I set navigationItem.titleMenuProvider an empty space is displayed. Everything displays as expected if it isn’t the first view controller. let tabBarController = UITabBarController(tabs: [ UITab(title: "Tab 1", image: nil, identifier: "tab1", viewControllerProvider: { _ in return UINavigationController(rootViewController: ViewController()) }) ]) class ViewController: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() navigationItem.title = "First" navigationItem.titleMenuProvider = { suggestions in return UIMenu(children: [ UIAction(title: "Option 1", handler: { _ in self.navigationController?.pushViewController(SecondViewController(), animated: true) }), UIAction(title: "Option 2", handler: { _ in }) ]) } } } class SecondViewController: UIViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() navigationItem.title = "Second" navigationItem.titleMenuProvider = { suggestions in return UIMenu(children: [ UIAction(title: "Option 1", handler: { _ in }), UIAction(title: "Option 2", handler: { _ in }) ]) } } }

[iOS18 22A5350a] remove to do list from calendar
I have updated my iPhone SE 2020 with the iOS18 beta, I've been doing this since iOS17. Everything is fine, until I look at my calendar. My to do list is in the calendar, I don't want that, it's a mess, I have 2 daily repetitive to do lists, and my calendar has become a mess, I already have this in the to do list. Does anyone know how I can remove this? I've already gone to setup, there's no option in the calendar, and I couldn't find it in the to do list either. Thank you in advance for your help.

How to remove a second search text on tvOS18?
I have an issue on tvOS 18 beta from Aug 20, where the search text is displayed twice, as in the image below. Code to reproduce the behavior is trivial: struct ContentView: View { @State private var searchText = "" var body: some View { NavigationView { Text("Some content...") } .searchable(text: $searchText) } } I did not find anything new in the API or documentation to disable it. Also, online searches for this specific issue did not produce any results. I would like to show the same behavior on tvOS18, as on tvOS17, without the second search text. Any idea on how to hide that second search text?

How to create a custom TimeDataSource?
Hello. I am working with the iOS 18b8 and Xcode 16b6 betas, updating a Live Activity Widget to adopt the new FormatStyle variants of the SwiftUI Text views. We used to use: Text(workoutStartDate, style: .relative) and it seems with iOS 18 we can replace it with: Text(workoutStartDate, format: .relative(presentation: .numeric, unitsStyle: .wide)) The former code would auto-increment, allowing a user to look at their Live Activity and see the duration of their workout so far ticking by. The new code does provide a nice relative duration string, but it doesn't auto-increment in the Live Activity's View – I need that functionality. I also updated other Texts in the Live Activity's View to adopt the .timer and .stopwatch FormatStyles. Those auto-increment and update no problem – once I realized I needed to provide a TimeDataSource<Date>.currentDate and not a simple Date. But in this .relative case, there is no auto-incrementing, and I'm guessing it may be due to providing a Date (workoutStartDate) and not a TimeDataSource<Date> as TimeDataSource seems to be the magic to make the Text auto-increment (or it's possible this format simply doesn't support auto-increment? bummer if so since the prior way did). How can I have a TimeDataSource<Date> that vends my arbitrary date (workoutStartDate)? I dug around, didn't find anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was overlooking something. PS: I have tried other approaches to solve this, such as simply using a .timer or .stopwatch format. That would change the under experience under iOS 18, and we think degrade it (the relative textual representation is nicer and provides distinction from the .timer also in the same View). We could keep the former approach, despite the minor layout issues under iOS 18. I have considered additional approaches as well – and am totally open to more! Here tho, I am truly curious how one might provide a custom TimeDataSource anchored at a date we provide (perhaps dynamically). Thank you.

Get Home Screen tint color
Is there a way to read the Home Screen tint color. The @Environment(.\colorScheme) is only giving access to .light & .dark. Is there another environment option that has access to the tinted color the user has selected for their Home Screen?

[iOS 18] Initializing CBCentralManager doesn't trigger prompting Bluetooth permission sometimes
The issue While testing how our app behaves on iOS 18 beta 6, we found an issue on one of our iPhones: At some point, the app creates CBCentralManager in order to trigger an alert to request Bluetooth permission; The alert is not shown; centralManagerDidUpdateState never gets called, the state is always .unknown. Below is a sample code I used to reproduce it easier: class ViewController: UIViewController, CBCentralManagerDelegate { var centralManager: CBCentralManager? @IBOutlet weak var stateLabel: UILabel! override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() print("Test app ready") } @IBAction func onPressedRequestPermission(_ sender: Any) { self.stateLabel.text = "Requested BLE permission" centralManager = CBCentralManager(delegate: self, queue: nil) } func centralManagerDidUpdateState(_ central: CBCentralManager) { var stateString = "" switch central.state { case .poweredOn: stateString = "poweredOn" case .unknown: stateString = "unknown" case .resetting: stateString = "resetting" case .unsupported: stateString = "unsupported" case .unauthorized: stateString = "unauthorized" case .poweredOff: stateString = "poweredOff" @unknown default: stateString = "unknownDefault" } print("CBCentralState changed: \(stateString)") self.stateLabel.text = "CBCentralState: \(stateString)" } } I ran this code on two devices - one with the issue and one without it, and compared the logs from Console. I noticed that the last similar logs were 15:44:25.428118+0200 tccd AUTHREQ_PROMPTING: msgID=8163.2, service=kTCCServiceBluetoothAlways, subject=Sub:{... After that, the bug-free device printed this within the next ~250ms: 15:44:25.432285+0200 SpringBoard Asked to bootstrap a new process for handle: [osservice<com.apple.tccd>:8144] ... 15:44:25.675380+0200 SpringBoard Received request to activate alertItem: <SBUserNotificationAlert: 0xc4289cf00; title: Allow “test1” to find Bluetooth devices?; source: tccd; pid: 8144> and showed the request for Bluetooth permission. At the same time, there were no such logs on the problematic device, and the request was not displayed. Other apps behavior nRF Connect app cannot request Bluetooth permission too on the same device. Usually it does that immediately after the first launch, but this time we saw only an error "Your device reports an unknown error for Bluetooth use." and no BT request alert. The question How can we programmatically detect that there is some unknown issue with Bluetooth in a similar way how nRF Connect does that?

Face ID setup Issue on iOS beta on iPhone 13
my phone wouldn’t recognize my face so I tried resetting faceid but setting it up wasn’t working, it keeps saying on the screen move phone lower or higher and blurs the background and it just won’t proceed with the setup, I did a diagnostics report with apple support and it showed that there was no problems and that it might be because I’m using the iOS beta updates, so can you fix it with the next update, I even tried taking off my screen protector and my case thinking they might be the problem but it wasn’t resolved

Xcode 16 Beta Swift Compiler Settings Missing
Really stumped on this issue my team is seeing with the Xcode 16 Beta (both Xcode 16 version 6 and Xcode 16.1). Wondering if anyone was having a similar issue and if this is a bug or something configured incorrectly. Basically, when I go to build settings and search for anything related to "Swift Compiler" nothing shows up. The only thing that appears with "Swift" in the title is under the User Defined keys (see attached) As such, I'm unable to change the Swift version for the project and I'm stuck in Swift 6 language mode which we're not quite ready for yet. This is only occurring on one of our targets. Our other app projects are behaving as expected. The project in question has the main target we build the project with and 2 support frameworks. The supporting frameworks are also working correctly. Its just the primary build target giving us fits. Curious if anyone is seeing something similar or has suggestions. Thanks!

Non Optional AppIntent Param
After building my app with Xcode 16 beta 6 I'm getting this warning in my AppIntents. Encountered a non-optional type for parameter: computer. Conformance to the following AppIntent protocols requires all parameter types to be optional: AppIntents.WidgetConfigurationIntent, AppIntents.ControlConfigurationIntent The intent looks something like this struct WakeUp: AppIntent, WidgetConfigurationIntent, PredictableIntent { @Parameter(title: "intent.param.computer", requestValueDialog:"intent.param.request_dialog.computer") var computer: ComputerEntity init(computer: ComputerEntity) { self.computer = computer } init() { } public static var parameterSummary: some ParameterSummary { Summary("Wake Up \(\.$computer)") } static var predictionConfiguration: some IntentPredictionConfiguration { IntentPrediction(parameters: (\.$computer)) { computer in DisplayRepresentation( title: "Wake Up \(computer)" ) } } @MainActor func perform() async throws -> some IntentResult & ProvidesDialog { } } According to the docs though specifying optional is how we say if the value is required or not. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appintents/adding-parameters-to-an-app-intent#Make-a-parameter-optional-or-required So is this warning accurate? If so, how do I specify that a parameter is required by the intent now?

In the iOS 18 beta, if there are two Enterprise Apps with the same D-U-N-S number, one of the apps will not run.
I am a developer working on iOS apps. I would like to report an issue occurring in iOS 18 beta and iOS 18.1 beta. Our company has two Enterprise accounts, and we are developing two apps: A app / TeamId: ABCDEFG B app / TeamId: HIJKLMN When we distribute these apps, which have different TeamIds, and install them on a device running iOS 18 beta, both apps install successfully, but only one app will run. (Other app crashed immediately after being launched.) This issue does not occur on versions prior to iOS 18. I would like to know if this is a problem that will be resolved in future updates, or if it is a policy change.

RoomPlan: textures for walls and floors.
After scanning the room I use the .export method passing a ModelProvider. Then I import the USDZ into a SCNView and continue processing the scene: I would like to apply a texture to the walls and floor, but I can't do it for the walls and floor because they don't contain the TextureCoordinates. Creating them from the USDZ file is not easy. I tried to combine the CapturedRoom data for the walls and floor only, adding the TextureCoordinates. I'm managing, but I'm struggling a lot. Isn't there an easier way to do it? Is there a ModelProvider planned for surfaces in the future? If so, where can I access the RoomPlan beta documentation?

iOS 18 beta - .onAppear in NavSplitView creates an infinite loop
Bug in iOS 18 beta? .onAppear of a NavSplitView-DetailView is called repeatedly after dismissing the view. The app gets unresponsive and can only be killed and cold-restartet. What happens: I update a Binding property in .onAppear of a NavigationSplitView-DetailView. Whenever I leave the DetailView going back to the ListView (the NavSplitView’s first column), the DetailView's .onAppear get’s triggered in an endless loop. This blocks the main thread and freezes the app. This behaviour is only appearing in iOS 18 betas (simulators and devices) and not on iOS 17.x releases. If I remove the code updating the Binding, the .onAppear loop does not happen. Another way of triggering the same unexpected behaviour is by updating an OberservedObject appState.shared singleton, e.g. by a timer. Has anybody come across this type of behaviour? Is this a know change of iOS 18 behaviour or a bug even?
