Running up Xcode 16.2 Beta 1, a lot of my code that used onPreferenceChange in Views to change @State properties of those views, such as some notion of a measured width is now complaining about mutating the @MainActor-isolated properties from Sendable closures. Now I've got to hoop-jump to change @State properties from onPreferenceChange? OK, but seems a bit of extra churn.

I'm using an iPhone 15 Pro Max and running developer beta 18.2 released today. I've already been an 'Apple Intelligence' user and now have been able to link it with my PAID ChatGPT account. HOWEVER; I'm searching for these Image features everyone seems to be posting about and cannot find them anywhere. I'm apparently supposed to sign up for beta access to the Image features through some new Apple natively released app that was supposedly included in this build update, which I cannot find. What gives??!!

I've encountered a major issue with the iOS 18.1 RC and watchOS 11.1 RC. It appears that complications running on WidgetKit cannot be synced as .watchface to these new release candidates. The error message indicates that "the Watch Faces app and complication are not available," which is affecting all apps utilizing WidgetKit. This issue renders all WidgetKit-based complications unusable on watchOS 11.1 RC. It’s a serious problem for those of us who rely on these complications for our apps and for users expecting consistent functionality. APPLE, PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP! This bug is a significant setback for developers and users alike, and any guidance or updates would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all, I recently shared a post to Reddit r/iCloud "Apple Alias Converted to Primary Apple Account" about an experience I had with changing my primary iCloud address to my alias after a name change. All the outlets have picked up on this story which may be misleading. I was under the impression this may be a bug, and now everyone's replicating this process without precaution. My question to the amazing Apple Developers and potentially Apple as well: Is the ability to change your Primary Apple Account to an Apple Alias (permanently) a known, previously discussed, upcoming feature? All Apple docs & support state otherwise. Really just seeking confirmation and I greatly appreciate expert input. Also happy to change Tags based on feedback (if possible). Thanks all! Caol

I'm a big fan of MetricKit. I decided to see how my apps are performing with iOS 18 and well, I'm not getting any metric payloads from those devices. Metric payloads received from my test devices adopting iOS 18 has pretty much bottomed out to zero. Is anyone getting MetricKit MXMetricPayloads from iOS 18 devices? FB15461298 - MetricKit: Production issue / regression with iOS 18 - Significant dropout or metric payloads being generated since 18.0 - nearly no reports To demonstrate the issue, I decided to graph the metric payloads my infrastructure receives for all of my apps across all of my devices over the last 16 months starting with WWDC23 timeframe. This data is grouped by count per month. A trend can easily be seen starting in June 2024 where I started to adopt iOS 18 betas. Zooming in since WWDC24, grouped by week, it is much easier to see the decline. Note, the second screenshot shows data collected from Xcode builds, TestFlight, and App Store. The last data point from today was a manual creation from Xcode's Debug window, so at least that triggering mechanism works and I can confirm all of my code to upload off device works as expected. On the bright side, I guess I will ship this 'payload received over time' feature in my MetricKit payload analyzer app with a scrolling window and group by features that make up these screenshots.

The password app on my iPad has stopped working. It goes through the Face ID then just shows a blank screen. It still seems to be applying ID / passwords when logging onto to sites that need them but I cannot manage the passwords at all. This seems to have happened after upgrading to iOS 18.1 beta but it is working fine on my iPhone which is also on 18.1 beta. Unfortunately I am forced to use Microsoft Authenticator for some apps but this has not been an issue to date and again is also installed on my iPhone. Please, does anyone have an explanation or fix for this as I rely on Apple’s password manager across a range of systems and I’m concerned I will end up losing my passwords. Thank you

Our goal is to capture images of external real-world objects using the passthrough camera of the Vision Pro, not just take screenshots or screen captures. Our specific use case involves: 1. Accessing the raw passthrough camera feed. 2. Capturing high-resolution images of objects in the real world through the camera. 3. Processing and saving these images for further analysis within our custom enterprise app. We would greatly appreciate any guidance, tutorials, or sample code that could help us achieve this functionality. If there are specific APIs or best practices for handling real-world image capture via passthrough cameras with the Enterprise APIs, please let us know.

Apple is using the RPE scale for workout effort scores. This stands for the Rate of Perceived Exertion. They're specifically using the CR-10 scale, at least from what I can tell by saving values to HealthKit. They only accept value between 0 and 10. Has anyone been able to find a scientific or academic paper on how they have chosen their different effort breakouts? Right from the Fitness app on iPhone and Activity app on Apple Watch: 1-3 Easy 4-6 Moderate 7-8 Hard 9-10 All Out There is zero documentation on these new types, which makes it difficult for workout recording apps to properly and appropriately save this new data type. Sure, we can use the Apple apps as a reference, but since there isn't a built-in Apple SwiftUI sheet to present this data, and no references to academia to point our users to, our solutions would just look the same. When I go to the software update tab in settings and have beta updates off 18.0.1 does not show up. I need to get off 18.1 since it’s ruining my battery life, is there any way to get 18.0.1 without a computer?

When I am trying to open the Pages app on my MacBook Pro, it keep on saying that it "closes unexpectedly" is there a work-around to this or do I have to wait until a bug fix comes out, I have tried restarting countless times.

I am experiencing a bug on my iPhone 13 after updating to iOS 18 beta 5. This bug causes my phone to unexpectedly show a black screen with a "loading" indicator, and then it returns to the lock screen. I have to unlock it for the phone to return to normal. This issue occurs repeatedly. I am not entirely sure what is happening with my device. I believe it is also experiencing overheating issues. Although the battery seems to be optimized, the phone is getting hot and still has the same bug mentioned above after the iOS 18 beta 5 update. Please help me, I would like to so much resolve this issue.

with my Mac air m2, after the update finished it started normally but after logging in, the Home Screen is blank (only wallpaper) no apps, no control bar, no dock nothing is showing up it’s just a blank normal screen I can move my mouse but can’t do anything with keyboard, when I lock and re-login it still stays same screen, I tried to reboot it, restart so many times but nothing helps, please if you have solution for this, I will be more than happy to know, thank you.

I started a thread stating the above and apparently I am not the only one to encounter this issue. My Apple Watch is the version 10 and I certainly didn't expect to have this problem. My older Apple Watch did have this same problem initially but after a few updated it stated working. I only tried the consumer beta hoping the issue was resolved. One of the posts today hoped the next update would fix it and I informed him I had installed the beta and it still wasn't working.

Hi I am on an iphone 15 pro (US version) running ios 18 build number 22A5282m and the software update page of settings says that beta updates are off (cannot be turned on (there are no public or developer beta options either)) and the main page displays this error message: “Unable to Check for Update An error occurred while checking for a software update. Try Again“ <— in blue i tried to put my device into recovery mode to restore but it just started bootlooping and only stopped when i let go of the power button. next was the factory reset. i completely emptied the phone and set it up again. i restored from an earlier backup but the problem still remained. I am unable to update and my battery life is really suffering (3-4h of screen on time. Background app refresh and location services are turned off and low power mode is turned on) any ideas would be appreciated thanks

Hi Community I‘m having a strange issue. Let‘s tell the whole story. I had an iPhone 14 Pro Max and used normally my Swiss banking app „Postfinance“. When iOS 17 was released, I decides to load the beta version of it. After that my banking app didn‘t work anymore and always claimed the iPhone to be jailbroken. I then switched off the beta , but still the same issue. Now i switched to the iPhone 16 Pro Max and still do have the same issue with a completely new device. For sure I transfered my data but this issue should be gone in my opinion. I also tried to contact my bank. They say on their side everything is working fine with the iOS app. Any idea guys? Is there anything I can „reset“ somewhere? Best Fabian

Hello everyone, Ever since installing macOS 15.1 beta 5 on this M1 13’’ MacBook Pro, I have been unable to install or update any application from the Mac App Store. I keep getting the following error: “The file “preflight.pfpkg” doesn’t exist.””. The same machine was fine with 15.0 Sequoia and the problem happens regardless of the region setting of the machine. The machine has at least 148 GB of free disk space on the SSD. The same app I was trying to install from the MAS app I could install from the provider’s website (WhatsApp in this case, but I have tried with other apps too). Has anyone noticed it before?
