iPhone 15pro iOS 18.2
Downloaded files cannot be located anywhere in Files, only by accessing Downloads in Safari. I have tried setting download folder to various locations, iCloud, Phone, Google Disk, but nothing is stored.
Has an invisible cache or temp folder been introduced? If so, it is a total fail:
When press-holding any file in Safari download, the normal file action options (Quick Look, share, store to Files, etc) are not available.
When clicking any file it opens any of several apps that has this file type associated with it, and there is no way to change the default app or disable the forced opening of an app.
I tried deleting the app opening .csv (in this case OneDrive), and another irrelevant app opened. There seems to be a hierarchy of apps-file types, and it has no logic to it.
in Chrome behaviour is as expected.

I'm trying to develop an app to control HomeKit accessories in a way not available so far in macOS. How can I work around the absence of HomeKit Support for macOS in Xcode 16?
Thanks!
Can someone give me an easy way to fix this code?
What is recommended best practice for importing a Blender 3D file into RCP? I assume as a .usdz file? Is there a WWDC24 session or other Apple resource that best explains this. I want to make sure I provide the right format/file to RCP from Blender.
WWDC21 had a cool demo project with fish, with a watery, misty look (Dive into RealityKit). It used post processing in RealityKit, but the ARView class isn’t available in VisionOS. Can CompositorLayer be used instead for post processing in full immersion?
Hello,
We are developing Apple pay with In-app provisioning, we are an agent of payment for a bank in France. We have already configured all the entitlements, and we think we have correctly configured things with our PNO
It's a react native app and we are able to follow the flow that opens the native dialogue, show the card, then retrieve the Terms & Conditions but when we click accept we get the error: "Could not add card"
we're experiencing exactly the same problem described in this other thread: https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/765832
In the logs we see the response:
{
errorCode = 40456;
statusCode = 500;
}
Our PNO swears they have configured their system in the right way. They only have 3 fields that they have configured as follows:
associated application identifier: {team_id}.{bundle_id}
associated store identifier: {adam_id}
application launch url: {app_name}://
Are these correct?

We reached out to the Apple Pay team who said we should talk to Technical support.
Can somebody help us please? We are stuck at the moment and we really need to make this work. We can provide all the details of the syslog output if needed
many thanks in advance!

I have a Safari extension which allows the user to load their own homepage upon opening a new tab. The extension works by retrieving the homepage URL from UserDefaults and then redirecting to it using window.location.replace. In iOS 18, if the homepage is unable to be loaded due to, for example the user having no internet connection, Safari will go into an rapid loading loop, which eventually stops after a while. This is unlike iOS 17, where trying to reproduce the same scenario will end up with a Safari error page, which should be the expected behaviour.
In short, instead of Safari going into an infinite loading loop, it should display a Safari error page like iOS 17 does.
As this issue is only happening on iOS 18, I am almost certain it's an iOS bug and would appreciate if this can be fixed as soon as possible.
I have created a Feedback Assistant report with ID FB15853821, which contains a sysdiagnose file from my iPhone 16 Pro, as well as two videos, one from my iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.2 beta 3 and the other video showing a comparison between iOS 18 and 17. Both videos first show the extension functioning correctly with an active internet connection, but when I disable my internet, the iOS 18 Safari goes into an infinite loop.
Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:
Download the Homepage for Safari app from the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/homepage-for-safari/id6481118559
Enter any valid homepage URL, such as https://apple.com and tap Save
Go to Settings -> Apps -> Safari -> Extensions -> Homepage and enable the extension
Make sure Open New Tabs is set to “Homepage”
Turn off both WiFi and cellular data and attempt to open a new tab in Safari
Please note that this also happens with iOS 18.2 beta 4.
If I have a Catalyst app with a WKWebView and I select text, I can drag forward to extend the selection, but I can't reduce the length of the selected range by dragging backwards. I've reproduced this in a trivial sample app.
Is there some property I need to set somewhere?
I've filed this as FB15645411.
App Status shows Ready for Distribution but the app does not get listed in the App Store, any reason? There is no red mark or any message highlighting is pending.
Please note,
Automatic Release option is set
View on App Store shows App Store Preview followed by the product logo name and other details

Hello everyone. I would like to let everyone know that I am excited to get an Apple developer account. As soon as I stepped in, I faced the first problem.
When I try to buy the Apple developer membership through the app, the person asks for an ID card. It automatically fills in the name and surname part. If we try to become a member via the web, the person does not ask for an ID card and we can enter the name and surname field as we wish.
I am at the payment screen and I entered my website name in the name and surname field. Will Apple close my account? Will I be prevented from receiving money through the app? What do you recommend me to do? I don't want to use my own name
We submitted firewall request to below destination subnets and we still see connection refused to port 5223. Please advise why are we seeing connection refused and should we need 5223 port.

Currently Apple has their own calendar called Birthdays which takes the birthdays from contacts and makes it as a regular calendar event along with the birthday number, they even do this for Hebrew Birthdays. I have tried (unsuccessfully thus far) to take the same concept and create a calendar for reoccurring events on a specific date in the Hebrew Calendar. An example of this would be Yahrtzeits, which is observed on the Hebrew date each year after a person dies. I want to add it to the system calendars like how Apple does it this way it can be used with any app not just my own. Currently there isn't a way to specify the calendar (like Calendar(identifier: .hebrew) or even make a custom EKRecurrenceRule, also from some of the debugging of the Birthdays calendar, it seems that the date saved is the Gregorian date and that theres some internal calculations happening. Is there a way to add reoccurring Hebrew Events or do I need to reinvent the wheel?
Hi there -
I maintain the react-native-apple-authentication module which allows react native developers to implement sign in with Apple
When testing we noticed that code working perfectly in iOS17 Simulators now fails on iOS18/18.1 Simulators. Specifically, the credential status is always revoked when testing on an iOS18+ Simulator.
The same code works perfectly on a real device running iOS18 or 18.1 so this appears to be a Simulator bug.
This is problematic because App review is frequently performed on a Simulator, so there are false-negative test results for Sign In With Apple from reviewers when they use iOS18 emulators, resulting in App submission rejections.
We're tracking this here, with some results posted and an example app in-repo that demonstrates the issue:
https://github.com/invertase/react-native-apple-authentication/issues/356
It would be great to see the Simulator fixed so that it works correctly with Sign In With Apple again. Thanks
To quickly change emails to “read” status in gmail, I tap on emails (opening them) and when in the email I either swipe right or tap the back arrow to return to inbox. I like to do many of these in quick succession to get rid of the amount of unread emails I have.
Once an email is opened, it freezes on the opened page and I have to exit the Gmail app to unfreeze it. About every second or third email in a row is freezing
How do I get out of the Apple Beta Developer Program? Stop receiving developer beta software updates, Can someone help me, please?
ps: Sorry for my English
Capturing more than one display is no longer working with macOS Sequoia.
We have a product that allows users to capture up to 2 displays/screens. Our application is using gstreamer which in turn is based on AVFoundation.
I found a quick way to replicate the issue by just running 2 captures from separate terminals. Assuming display 1 has device index 0, and display 2 has device index 1, here are the steps:
install gstreamer with
brew install gstreamer
Then open 2 terminal windows and launch the following processes:
terminal 1 (device-index:0):
gst-launch-1.0 avfvideosrc -e device-index=0 capture-screen=true ! queue ! videoscale ! video/x-raw,width=640,height=360 ! videoconvert ! osxvideosink
terminal 2 (device-index:1):
gst-launch-1.0 avfvideosrc -e device-index=1 capture-screen=true ! queue ! videoscale ! video/x-raw,width=640,height=360 ! videoconvert ! osxvideosink
The first process that is launched will show the screen, the second process launched will not.
Testing this on macOS Ventura and Sonoma works as expected, showing both screens.
I submitted the same issue on Feedback Assistant: FB15900976
Our tvOS app makes use of top shelf Carousel style slides to promote our content.
We would like to detect when tvOS transitions between individual top shelf slides, regardless of whether the slide transition is made by a user (via the Siri remote), or by the system idle auto-transition.
Has anyone achieved this, maybe there are undocumented system hooks or events we can listen to?
Hi, I have a full screen iOS game. In the Simulator, preferredScreenEdgesDeferringSystemGestures works well to prevent a drag down from the top of the full-screen play area from immediately opening the Notification Center. (You got a tab, and had to swipe down on it.) But at least on my device, when testing, unlike in Simulator, Notification Center opens immediately when I swipe down from the top. Any suggestions?
Issue Description
When playing certain MIDI files using AVMIDIPlayer, the initial volume settings for individual tracks are being ignored during the first playback. This results in all tracks playing at the same volume level, regardless of their specified volume settings in the MIDI file.
Steps to Reproduce
Load a MIDI file that contains different volume settings for multiple tracks
Start playback using AVMIDIPlayer
Observe that all tracks play at the same volume level, ignoring their individual volume settings
Current Behavior
All tracks play at the same volume level during initial playback
Track volume settings specified in the MIDI file are not being respected
This behavior consistently occurs on first playback of affected MIDI files
Expected Behavior
Each track should play at its specified volume level from the beginning
Volume settings in the MIDI file should be respected from the first playback
Workaround
I discovered that the correct volume settings can be restored by:
Starting playback of the MIDI file
Setting the currentPosition property to (current time - 1 second)
After this operation, all tracks play at their intended volume levels
However, this is not an ideal solution as it requires manual intervention and may affect the playback experience.
Questions
Is there a way to ensure the track volume settings are respected during the initial playback?
Is this a known issue with AVMIDIPlayer?
Are there any configuration settings or alternative approaches that could resolve this issue?

iOS Version: 18.1.1 (22B91)
Xcode Version: 16.1 (16B40)
Within my app, I have:
for try await update in LockedCameraCaptureManager.shared.sessionContentUpdates {
It seems that the first time my app opens from LockedCameraCapture (after enabling camera permissions etc...) this update is never called and the user will not see their capture (.added or .initial)
If I then try to take another picture/video through my LockedCameraCapture control, it takes the video, opens the app as before, but this time sessionContentUpdates is called twice, once for the first video and once for the second video!
After that it doesn't seem to occur again and all works perfectly!
My device is: iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18.2 developer beta
Has anyone experienced this?
