How to resolve SwiftUI.DynamicProperty on MainActor compiler warning on 6.0?
Hi! I'm running into a warning from a SwiftUI.DynamicProperty on a 6.0 development build (swift-6.0-DEVELOPMENT-SNAPSHOT-2024-03-26-a). I am attempting to build a type (conforming to DynamicProperty) that should also be MainActor. This type with also need a custom update function. Here is a simple custom wrapper (handwaving over the orthogonal missing pieces) that shows the warning: import SwiftUI @MainActor struct MainProperty: DynamicProperty { // Main actor-isolated instance method 'update()' cannot be used to satisfy nonisolated protocol requirement; this is an error in the Swift 6 language mode @MainActor func update() { } } Is there anything I can do about that warning? Does the warning correctly imply that this will be a legit compiler error when 6.0 ships? I can find (at least) two examples of types adopting DynamicProperty from Apple that are also MainActor: FetchRequest and SectionedFetchRequest. What is confusing is that both FetchRequest^1 and SectionedFetchRequest^2 explicitly declare their update method to be MainActor. Is there anything missing from my Wrapper declaration that can get me what I'm looking for? Any more advice about that? Thanks!

Unsandboxed XPCService launches sandboxed child processes
I have an application, it has main process and some child processes. As we want those child processes to have their own minimum sandbox privilege, not inheriting from parent process, we plan to use XPCService which uses a NSTask to launch those child processes, so those child processes can have its own sandbox privilege. We plan to deliver the application to Mac App Store, so process mode is: the sandboxed main process builds connections to the unsandboxed XPCService, the unsandboxed XPCService launch those sandboxed child processes. Can this process mode pass the Mac App Store rules? I see, there is a rule that all processes must be sandboxed, including XPCService. But I tested locally, the Application downloaded from Mac apple store also launches unsandboxed XPCService, like OneDrive. Do you have any suggestions for my application scenario, sandboxed child processes having its own privilege not inheriting from parent?

How does rendering to a higher resolution RenderTarget and then downsampling to a Drawable cause image distortion?
Rendering the scene onto a RenderTarget with twice the resolution of the Drawable, and then downsampling to the Drawable, causes the image to appear distorted. Modifications were made on the Xcode VisionOS template Foveation should be enabled by default struct ContentStageConfiguration: CompositorLayerConfiguration { func makeConfiguration(capabilities: LayerRenderer.Capabilities, configuration: inout LayerRenderer.Configuration) { configuration.depthFormat = .depth32Float configuration.colorFormat = .bgra8Unorm_srgb let foveationEnabled = capabilities.supportsFoveation configuration.isFoveationEnabled = foveationEnabled let options: LayerRenderer.Capabilities.SupportedLayoutsOptions = foveationEnabled ? [.foveationEnabled] : [] let supportedLayouts = capabilities.supportedLayouts(options: options) configuration.layout = supportedLayouts.contains(.layered) ? .layered : .dedicated } } To avoid errors, rasterizationRateMap is not set. var renderPassDescriptor = MTLRenderPassDescriptor() renderPassDescriptor.colorAttachments[0].texture = self.renderTarget.currentFrameColor renderPassDescriptor.renderTargetWidth = self.renderTarget.currentFrameColor.width renderPassDescriptor.renderTargetHeight = self.renderTarget.currentFrameColor.height renderPassDescriptor.colorAttachments[0].loadAction = .clear renderPassDescriptor.colorAttachments[0].storeAction = .store renderPassDescriptor.colorAttachments[0].clearColor = MTLClearColor(red: 0.0, green: 0.0, blue: 0.0, alpha: 0.0) renderPassDescriptor.depthAttachment.texture = self.renderTarget.currentFrameDepth renderPassDescriptor.depthAttachment.loadAction = .clear renderPassDescriptor.depthAttachment.storeAction = .store renderPassDescriptor.depthAttachment.clearDepth = 0.0 //renderPassDescriptor.rasterizationRateMap = drawable.rasterizationRateMaps.first if layerRenderer.configuration.layout == .layered { renderPassDescriptor.renderTargetArrayLength = drawable.views.count } The rendering process is as follows:

Access persona on VisionOS
I am planning to build a VisionOS app and need to get access to the persona (avatar). I have not found any information regarding integration possibilities in the docs. Does anyone know if and how I can access the user's persona? Other applications like Zoom and Teams for VisionOS use the persona, so I think it is basically possible. Apparently (if it's not fake) there is also a chess game with integrated persona: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMzK8C3t14I Any help is very welcome, thanks.

How to react to card network on onpaymentmethodselected?
We're currently evaluating Apple Pay as a payment method on our site. For Amex US credit card payments, we charge a payment fee. For other credit cards, there is no such fee. However, for Apple Pay it seems we cannot configure this. What we currently tried is to implement onpaymentmethodselected. However, only the card type is part of the event, not the card network. Example code: session.onpaymentmethodselected = event => { /* event.paymentMethod only contains {type: "credit"} */ console.log('onpaymentmethodselected', event.paymentMethod); /* event.paymentMethod.network is therefore undefined, if we could have here 'amex', 'mastercard' etc, we could implement the payment fee we currently have*/ console.log('onpaymentmethodselected', event.paymentMethod.network); session.completePaymentMethodSelection({}); }; Is there a way to access the network in this callback? Or is there another way to implement payment fees with certain networks used via Apple Pay?

AVAudioEngine Dolby Atmos
Hi! I have a music app using AVAudioEngine. Right now, I have set it up to play multi channel tracks and show "Multichannel" in the volume controls. However, I am unable to figure out how to get it to use Dolby Atmos. Is there something that needs to be enabled? Is it even possible for AVAudioEngine? I saw some apps that are able of playing with Dolby Atmos, but they do not have EQ feature, so I'm guessing that they are not using AVAudioEngine.

Xcode issues pairing to Supervised Devices
We have been using a Supervision Identity successfully over the last few years to allow us to Xcode debug on managed devices. Something has changed in the last few months which we are finding it hard to find a consistent solution to. We can't determine whether it's Xcode 15/iOS version related. Behaviour we see documented below All Macs with the Supervision Identity installed can open the device in Apple Configurator without need for trust acknowledge on the device. Configurator can open and stream the device console. All problematic devices are also registered as a development device with Apple. We have hit and miss connectivity in Finder, On failure it indicates that the trust prompt on the device needs to be accepted. No trust prompt is displayed Developer Mode on the device can't be enabled until we attempt to connect to Xcode Devices that pair successfully in Xcode do so almost immediately. If a device pairs in Xcode it is also visible in the native macOS Console application If a device fails to pair in Xcode we get a spinner and the message "Xcode has already started pairing with 'iPhone-X'. Select Trust on iPhone-X to complete pairing". The macOS console app reports "The user has not responded to the pairing request on 'iPhone-X' In neither case is a trust prompt displayed on a device. We are not able to Xcode pair any managed device running iOS 17.x. This includes devices that were successfully paired on iOS16.x then upgraded iOS16.x devices that pair with one Mac successfully will not pair with another Mac with the same Supervision Identity installed. The same behaviour is seen on Ventura and Sonoma Macs Clearing Trusted Computers in IOS Developer Mode has no effect None supervised iOS devices pair successfully on iOS 16 and 17 Has anyone else witnessed similar issues and found a work around ?

Filling the tax Information. Help needed.
I'm setting up subscriptions on the App Store and need to fill out some forms. One of them is the "U.S. Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner." At the bottom of the form, I see a label 'U.S. Person' with my name listed underneath it. What does "U.S. Person" mean here? My name appears below the "U.S. Person" title, but I'm not a U.S. person. What should I do? Also, what title should I enter? I'm the only developer on the app.

Blob URLs not Working on iOS 17.4.1
Hi Apple Team, We have a PWA which supports downloading and playback for audio and video content. Downloaded content is stored in IndexedDB in the form of blobs and blob URLs are generated on runtime through which content is played. We have observed that the blob URLs have stopped working on iOS 17.4.1. They work on iOS 17.4 and iOS 17.3 as well. This feature is very critical for us as it is the heart of the offline mode of the app. Thanks!

Issue with Sign in with Apple Token Revocation API
Hello everyone! I'm encountering an issue while trying to use the Sign in with Apple token revocation API. I've followed the steps outlined in the official documentation (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/sign_in_with_apple/revoke_tokens), but when I consume the API, I receive a 200 status code instead of the expected code. I've double-checked my implementation and can't find any obvious errors. Has anyone else experienced this issue before? I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice on how to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance for your help!

Issues with Multicast Operations using NWConnectionGroup and NWMulticastGroup
Hello, I've been encountering some challenges while working with NWConnectionGroup and NWMulticastGroup for multicast operations on iOS. I have a few doubts and issues that I would like to address: 1. NWMulticastGroup Initialization It seems that when initializing NWMulticastGroup, only one NWEndpoint can be passed, and attempting to pass multiple endpoints results in failure. Can someone confirm if this behavior is correct? 2. Interface Level Control Upon initializing NWConnectionGroup, it appears that packets are received on all interfaces without the ability to control this at the interface level. Is this correct? If not is there a way to configure NWConnectionGroup to receive packets on all interfaces? 3. Sending Behavior During the send operation, it appears that the data is sent through any one of the available interfaces, and there doesn't seem to be an option to configure it to send through all available endpoints. Is there a way to enable sending data through all available endpoints? Any insights, guidance, or solutions to these issues would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone else encountered similar problems or found workarounds for these limitations? Thank you for your assistance and support. Thanks, Harshal

File transfer issue from iPhone to Watch after iOS 17.5 & WatchOS 10.5 update
After updating to iOS 17.5 & WatchOS 10.5, the didFinish response from WCSessionDelegate does not come when transferring files from iPhone to Watch. It worked normally until 17.4 & 10.4. There is no problem with checking file completion even if a didFinish response is not received, but I think Apple needs to check this issue and update. File transfer is done using the transferFile function of WCSession. The file being transferred is a single file and its size does not exceed 30MB. When you try to transfer Pi, the message below appears in the Xcode log section. -[WCFileStorage persistOutgoingFileTransfer:] error serializing file transfer <WCSessionFileTransfer: 0x300155d60, session file: <WCSessionFile: 0x3001575c0, identifier: 0C8857EC-7D74-4E78-BA28-6C5526DE8949, file: /private/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/DD797847-DED1-42C0-989F-34CD05825007/tmp/C042D096-F12B-4B50-8792-868475DBBF47.zip, hasMetadata: YES>, transferring: YES> due to Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4866 "Caught exception during archival: This object may only be encoded by an NSXPCCoder. Removed due to Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Hi, For 10 days now we've been rejected with no answer. I am afraid Apple will never answer us... and 3 years of development down the drain. My team and our whole families are waiting but as the days go by, it is looking more and more grim for us I am afraid. Is there anything we can do? Our game had a decent rating and audience reception so far. All of our code is built by us over thousands of hours. We have alot of features that competitors do not have, this was even mentioned by several Youtubers and called out as a unique game. Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam We noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. Any advice would be so appreciated ! Thank you, Alex

Unable to create Sandbox Apple IDs
I have a Developer account with a Developer Role, although apparently without the stated ability to create my own Sandbox ID. So, our company's Administrator is trying to create one for me. But each time he enters a new icloud.com address to create one, he gets the error, "Your Apple ID or password was entered incorrectly." (The example at the above link uses icloud.com, and that seems the natural place to do this. I'm assuming that since you can't actually create an icloud.com email without an Apple ID, that this sandbox creation process should be ok with the email not existing yet.)

Apple Watch can't always reconnect
Using Xcode to build and deploy the app to my watch, this is what I get: “Waiting to reconnect to Apple Watch. Previous preparation error: Transport error." And then “Connecting to Apple Watch. Xcode will continue when the operation completes.” And these messages continue to switch between each other. Sometimes the watch to connect and the application starts, but more often a scenario occurs with endless reconnection. I'm using: MacOS 14.4.1 (MacBook Pro 2019; 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5), Xcode 15.3, Watch OS 10.2 (Apple Watch SE 1), iOS 17.1.1 (iPhone 15 Pro). Methods I tried: Connecting Macbook, iPhone and Watch to the same WIfi network; Disabling Watch (and IPhone) from the "Devices and Simulators" menu and setting up Watch (and IPhone) from the beginning. Any help?

Using the same texture for both input & output of a fragment shader
Hello, This exact question was already asked in this forum (8 years ago) but I can't find a definitive answer: Does Metal allow using the same color texture as both an input and output (color attachment) of a fragment shader? Is the behavior defined somewhere? I believe this results in undefined behavior under both DirectX and OpenGL, so I'd assume the same for Metal, but then why doesn't Metal warn me about this as it does on some many other "misconfigurations"? It also seems to work correctly in my case, as I found out by accident. Would love to get a clarification! Thanks ahead!

Apple Pay guidelines clarification
Hello there, I have a couple of question about Apple Pay guidelines: • if we offer Apple Pay payment method in our app, can we disable the selection (I mean the method selection NOT the Payment button!) IF certain condition happens? E.g. the user cannot select apple pay payment method because our basket is not ready yet. • Are we forced to move the apple pay payment method on the top of our selection? E.g. Cards, Cash On Delivery, Coupon, Apple Pay --> Apple Pay, Cards, Cash On Delivery, Coupon One last technical question: • when we start the payment process we are gonna create the request and present the sheet BUT we have to call our backend for pre-authorization, is it allowed? @objc private func applePayButtonTapped(sender: UIButton) { // TODO: Is it allowed? // We need to ask to our backend a pre-authorization and THEN procced with Apple Pay flow // but this could be done ONLY after the user TAP on BUY with APPLE PAY and BEFORE // paymentAuthorizationViewController is called. // Are we compliant to do that? if PKPaymentAuthorizationViewController.canMakePayments(usingNetworks: FakeData.paymentInfo()) { let request = PKPaymentRequest() request.blablabla = blabla let authorizationViewController = PKPaymentAuthorizationViewController(paymentRequest: request) if let viewController = authorizationViewController { viewController.delegate = self present(viewController, animated: true, completion: nil) } } } Thanks in advance :)
