Hi everyone,
I am currently using Xcode 16.1, which only includes device support files up to iOS 16.4. However, I need to target iPhones running iOS 17 and iOS 18 (e.g., iPhone 15 and iPhone 16).
Is there any way to acquire the device support files for iOS versions above 16.4 without upgrading to a new Xcode version that hasn't been released yet? I’m unable to upgrade my Xcode due to hardware limitations, but I still need to test my app on these newer devices.
I’ve heard about manually adding device support files, but I’m unsure of the process or where to obtain them safely. Can anyone provide guidance or direct me to where I can find these files?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I am experiencing a bug on my iPhone 13 after updating to iOS 18 beta 5. This bug causes my phone to unexpectedly show a black screen with a "loading" indicator, and then it returns to the lock screen. I have to unlock it for the phone to return to normal. This issue occurs repeatedly.
I am not entirely sure what is happening with my device. I believe it is also experiencing overheating issues.
Although the battery seems to be optimized, the phone is getting hot and still has the same bug mentioned above after the iOS 18 beta 5 update.
Please help me, I would like to so much resolve this issue.
I'm having issues using Imessage with OS 18. Android user are not receiving text message from a new group created with OS18. I added new users to a chat that we have been using for over a year. After upgrading to OS18 I was hoping I could add additional members without creating a new group, that apparently is not able to happen. What is happening, some folks with Android phones are not getting the text messages. These are members that have been on the group for sometime. Not sure if its all or some because I do not know who has what phone but it is indeed frustrating. I have tried turning off and on RCS and rebooting when I make the changes. I was under the impression OS18 would solve some of the incompatibility issues.

Hi Community
I‘m having a strange issue.
Let‘s tell the whole story.
I had an iPhone 14 Pro Max and used normally my Swiss banking app „Postfinance“.
When iOS 17 was released, I decides to load the beta version of it. After that my banking app didn‘t work anymore and always claimed the iPhone to be jailbroken.
I then switched off the beta , but still the same issue.
Now i switched to the iPhone 16 Pro Max and still do have the same issue with a completely new device. For sure I transfered my data but this issue should be gone in my opinion.
I also tried to contact my bank. They say on their side everything is working fine with the iOS app.
Any idea guys? Is there anything I can „reset“ somewhere?
Best
Fabian
Hello,
I’ve been experiencing repeated errors when trying to install my app via flutter run --release on iOS devices using Xcode 16.1 (build 16B5014f) on macOS 15.1. When running the app in debug mode, it sometimes works but takes a long time to install. However, the installation in release mode fails consistently.
This issue occurs on both my iPhone and iPad, both running iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18, respectively. The errors keep rotating between three variations:
Error 1: CoreDeviceError 3002
Error executing devicectl: ProcessException: Process exited abnormally with exit code 1:
ERROR: Failed to install the app on the device. (com.apple.dt.CoreDeviceError error 3002 (0xBBA))
Connection with the remote side was unexpectedly closed :
"XPCErrorDescription" => "Connection interrupted"
Error 2: CoreDeviceError 12010
Error executing devicectl: ProcessException: Process exited abnormally with exit code 1:
ERROR: The developer disk image could not be unmounted on this device. (com.apple.dt.CoreDeviceError error 12010 (0x2EEA))
Could not read from the device. (com.apple.dt.CoreDeviceError error -402653180 (0xE8000004))
Error 3: CoreDeviceError 1000
Error executing devicectl: ProcessException: Process exited abnormally with exit code 1:
ERROR: The specified device was not found. (com.apple.dt.CoreDeviceError error 1000 (0x3E8))
What I've Tried So Far:
Reinstalled Xcode, cleaned the build folder, and cleared DerivedData.
Tried using both an iPhone and an iPad running iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.0.
Ensured that Developer Mode is enabled on both devices.
Disabled VPNs (Bitdefender) and firewall settings.
Manually mounted the developer disk image via Xcode.
Restarted the Mac, Xcode, and devices multiple times.
Despite these steps, the errors persist, and I’m unable to install the app on either device. I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this issue.
System Information:
macOS Version: 15.1 (Build 24B5055e)
Xcode Version: 16.1 (Build 16B5014f)
Devices: iPhone 14 running iOS 18.1, iPad running iPadOS 18.0
Thank you in advance!
I've upgrade my macbook m3 pro to macOS 15, I have 2 iPhones (12 Pro and 16 Pro) - both on iOS 18 and have 3 versions of Xcode installed (15.4, 16.0, 16.1-2 beta)
For the past week I'm unable to develop on my physical device and checked all the threads in this forum for a workaround to disable the "Connect via Network".
If I'm not connected to VPN on any of my devices, I get the process attached via network after ~20 minutes, but if I try to do it while on VPN it takes forever (not even sure, can't spend 1 hour waiting to be attached or not)
What can I do to disable the "Connect via Network" and why is enabled by default and greyed out?
i.use in not cámara app

Hey everyone,
I work on an app with VoIP calls and essential notifications features, and I'm curious about the new locked/hidden apps functionality in iOS 18.
Specifically, does iOS 18 provide any way for developers to detect if a user has hidden their app from the home screen or app library? I want to notify users if they hide the app, core functionalities like VoiP calls and notifications might not work as expected. Furthermore, would critical alerts also be hidden from the notification center?
Any insight on whether Apple exposes this information to developers, or if there are indirect ways to detect hidden status, would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
I am trying to set my UITextView as the first responder with [self.textView becomeFirstResponder] when my view controller called viewDidAppear.
But sometimes it will cause crash with the error: [__NSPlaceholderArray initWithObjects:count:]: attempt to insert nil object from objects[0]
all I did is just:
- (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated {
[super viewDidAppear:animated];
[self.textView becomeFirstResponder];
}
So if anyone can tell me what happened and how to do? when I call the [self.textView becomeFirstResponder], what will be insert into the responders list? self.textView itself?
Thanks very much!
I am trying to install an app from a XCode project onto a iOS 17.6.1 device.
The Macbook is a MacOSX Sonoma 14.7, Apple M2 Pro. I'm running XCode 16.0. I receive a series of alerts before receiving the final message.
I tried to delete everything in this folder:
rm ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.dt.Xcode/Downloads/*
I reviewed the XCode components currently installed:
I downloaded more runtime simulators from this link. I then followed the instructions provided in this link. For example:
xcrun simctl runtime add "~/Downloads/iOS_17.4_Simulator_Runtime.dmg"
xcrun simctl runtime add "~/Downloads/iOS_17.5_Simulator_Runtime.dmg"
I'm still getting a message beside the device I want to install my app:
The Developer Disk Image Could Not Be Staged On The Host
I need help. I don't know what else to do. I don't see any matching simulators available for 17.6.1 and 17.7. Does anyone have any ideas?
Does anyone else’s came not work properly I can only do selfies since the update to iOS 18 as it’s blacked out the main camera
I've just updated to iOS 18.1 Beta 5 update and I'm not able to see FaceTime audio/ video calls in the phone call log at all as it's like no where. And even in FaceTime there is no summary like call duration or recent calls log, just last call listed.
Please resolve this issue and have FaceTime calls logs to be shown in the phone call logs as that was perfect and categorised.
It crashes any app including System Preferences or etc.
Below is an example of crash log with my own app.

Here's what I do:
I have a folder on my Synology called "Public/Photos/JPGs" where I have folders with all of my JPGs.
I use the Apple Mac "Photos" app to manage all of my photos.
I store my Photos library (Photos Library.photoslibrary) on a 2TB SSD drive that's formatted as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)"
I then sync my photos to my iPad and iPhone using finder.
So I THINK that my Synology plays no part in the sync. I think it's just pulling my photos from the SSD.
This used to work fine, but I haven’t been able to sync with iOS and iPadOS 18.1 (have tried it with ALL of the Betas). Does the new iOS require a different file format or something?
Any ideas?!
Xcode 16 RC refuses to recognise my iPhone 13 mini running IOS 18 as a device and won’t compile onto it. Using the exact same setup I can compile onto my iPad running IOS 17.5.
Xcode used to compile onto it (Xcode 15.x and iphone on IOS 17.x). My iphone is a known device in my developer account. I have switched on ‘Developer Mode’ in the iPhone Settings and rebooted. I am using an Apple lightning cable. I’ve tried changing USB ports. The Mac recognises it in Finder.
On one app my minimum deployment is IOS 17. I have created a new app where the minimum deployment is IOS 18 and tried both in combinations, below.
I can plug in my iPad running iPadOS 17 and Xcode 16 RC will compile successfully onto it (app is minimum deployment IOS 17) , just not my iPhone now that I upgraded it to IOS 18. I have:
installed the Iphone 13 mini simulator with IOS 18 on Xcode 16 RC and compiled successfully to that with both apps.
rebooted all devices and replugged all devices in countless combinations, countless times.
tried different apps with different minimum deployments, including sample code written by others.
tried setting my minimum deployments to IOS 18
The main issue is that at best, Xcode 16 RC ‘sees’ my iPhone mini and tries to pair with it but doesn’t succeed. I tried following this thread: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/764196?answerId=804884022#804884022
and tried ‘Quick fix 1’. Which at least allowed Xcode to sometimes ‘see’ my phone, but after a few reboots, no longer does.
Quick Fix 1:
“Open Terminal and run (replacing the path to Xcode 16.0 if needed):
sudo installer -pkg /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Resources/Packages/XcodeSystemResources.pkg -target /“
Apple M1 Pro - Sequoia 15.0 (24A335)
Xcode Version 16.0 (16A242d)
