If you are not saving and restoring state, how can you expect the app to resume in a consistent state?
Strange, that they are asking the same question as you (with slight differences in the wording).

I think you would have to share some specific code, for people to be able to comment on that. e.g. are you using touchesBegan with a UIButton (or some other kind of button)?
The defer statements just need some code after them, to action the decompressed data.
Alternatively alternatively... you may have Code Review turned on. Try "View > Hide Code Review".
