I found a SO thread: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/39908994/itunes-connect-app-analytics-sales-and-trends-showing-different-values
You can read in the comments and follow the link to the next question for more details.
The desktop downloads is coming from downloading with iTunes. This means on Windows or on macOS which is lower than Big Sur, Catalina for instance. Big Sur don't have iTunes.
The app is then synced from the desktop to the iPhone. It shows which devices it was first downloaded on. Which is a bit misleading I think
The https://apps.apple.com link of my app clearly says i'ts only for iPhone:
I also can't find the app in the App Store app on my Mac.
So I assume what is said in app store connect trends is wrong
I just deployed development schema to production. With two different users I could confirm that each user's data where stored separately. Note, this was when using the private storage option in CloudKit.

Same for me. Several app units does not get reported in App Analytics but they are there in Sales and Trends. No IPA or app price set. Very confusing.
My preview video is stuck in the previous version.
Same problem
Interesing. What happens if the service calls are exceeded. Will the service simply block the call or will my apple membership account get billed?
