I'm writing with great concern about my developer account situation. On January 3rd, 2025, I received a Pending Termination Notice claiming I "provided fraudulent/false account information or falsely represented myself."
However, I believe this might be a misunderstanding due to my expired ID card. The issue appears to stem from my expired ID card and an address change due to administrative redistricting - purely documentation timing matters rather than any intentional misconduct. I have since updated all potentially outdated developer account information promptly, including my new ID card, current address, and active contact details, to ensure full compliance with Apple's verification requirements.
I promptly submitted a comprehensive appeal on January 9th with all necessary legal documentation to verify my identity. However, after 14 days, I find myself in an increasingly desperate situation:
I have received no response whatsoever - not even a confirmation that my appeal was received
My account remains in pending termination status
I am unable to update my apps or access earnings
Most concerning, I have no way to verify if my appeal is being reviewed
The impact of this situation has been devastating. As each day passes without a response, my financial losses continue to mount. My small studio is now on the brink of bankruptcy, and my team's livelihoods are at stake. The most frustrating part is that besides anxiously waiting, there seems to be no viable way to resolve this situation.
I'm confident this is a misunderstanding that could be resolved once my appeal is reviewed, as I've always maintained full compliance with Apple's guidelines. The issue appears to stem from identity documentation timing rather than any intentional misconduct.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? I would greatly appreciate any advice on:
Typical response times for such appeals
Additional steps I could take
Alternative ways to contact the review team
How to handle this stressful waiting period
I'm ready to provide any additional documentation needed to prove my identity and resolve this issue. This account represents my career and livelihood, and I'm desperate for any guidance.
Thank you all in advance.
Hi all,
I have an app that is already released in the App Store, and I recently submitted a new version for bug fixes only. Normally, updates are accepted within 24 hours. However, this time, my submission was unexpectedly rejected for the following reason:
The app preview includes content that does not sufficiently show the app in use. Specifically, the app preview:
Shows footage other than the app in use, such as images of the home screen.
This feedback is surprising because the app preview video has been approved in previous versions, and I made no changes to it in this submission.
Importantly, the reason for including the iPhone's Home Screen is to showcase a critical function of the app—interacting with it via Siri when the phone is locked. I am unsure how to demonstrate this key feature without showing the phone's Lock Screen. I have attempted to explain this in my responses and even uploaded a YouTube video to clarify the app's functionality, but I continue to receive generic, templated feedback.
I also raised an appeal, but it has been over 7 days without a response. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? How did you manage to navigate this situation?
Thank you for your help!

I'm using Superwall with Expo for my iOS app. I am testing two paywalls for my Superwall campaign so that the user will have a 50/50 chance of getting each one. App review rejected the submission because they could not locate another IAP that was not being rendered because of the Superwall campaign. How do I explain this to them? They don't seem to understand.
Hi Apple Developer Team,
I am encountering an issue with the “Sign in with Apple” feature. While implementing this functionality in my application, I noticed that the user’s first name and last name are not being returned, even though I have explicitly requested the fullName scope. However, the email and other requested information are returned successfully.
Here are the details of my implementation:
1. Scope Requested: fullName, email
2. Response Received: Email and other data are present, but fullName is missing or null.
3. Expected Behavior: I expected to receive the user’s first and last name as per the fullName scope.
I have verified the implementation and ensured that the correct scopes are being passed in the request.
Could you please help clarify the following?
1. Are there specific conditions under which Apple may not return the user’s fullName despite the scope being requested?
2. Is there a recommended approach or fallback mechanism to handle this scenario?
3. Could this behavior be related to a limitation or change in the API, or might it be an issue on my end?
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or solutions to resolve this issue.
Thank you for your support!

We submitted our app for review on 23-December. The review team asked two questions and we replied those promptly. Due to holidays, we didn't hear anything back for 10 days. on 6-Jan we got the message that
"Thank you for your reply. Your submission’s review will require additional time as we take this new information into account. We do not require any further information at this time.
Once we have thoroughly reviewed your submission, we will either contact you in App Store Connect to communicate any issues found, or your submission will be approved."
It has been over 2 weeks and no response yet. We have requested for expedite review and sent email to the review team but no response.
What should we do?
Hi Developers of the World! I have just created my first iOS App and it was rejected by the review panel for Guideline 4.2 - Design - Minimum Functionality. Looking for some guidance on how to improve my app to get it accepted. Thanks in advance
I received the below termination letter on a app review of a game which was last updated 2 months ago. I never re-submitted the app even a single time, not only this app but all others apps. Once the update is rejected, I never submit again if the issue is confusing to avoid the multiple submissions issue. I got this is message on one of my apps(total 18 apps) which is simple tractor farming built from scratch. I didn't even perform any action on account from last 2 months and suddenly got this email.
Pending Termination Notice
Upon further review of the activity associated with your Apple Developer Program membership, it's been determined that your membership, or a membership associated with your account, has been used for dishonest or fraudulent activity, in violation of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement. Given the severity of the identified issues, your account has been flagged for removal.
Because your account has been flagged for removal, any earnings payments are paused and app transfers are disabled. Creating new accounts after receiving this message may result in the termination of the new or associated accounts.
Evidence of Dishonest or Fraudulent Activity
App submissions from your account have repeatedly violated the App Review Guidelines in an attempt to evade the review process. After multiple resubmissions, the guideline violation(s) detailed to you in prior correspondence remain unresolved.
Guidelines or Terms Violated
The dishonest or fraudulent activity described above directly violates section 3.2(f) of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, which states:
"You will not, directly or indirectly, commit any act intended to interfere with any of the Apple Software or Services, the intent of this Agreement, or Apple’s business practices including, but not limited to, taking actions that may hinder the performance or intended use of the App Store, Custom App Distribution, TestFlight, Xcode Cloud, Ad Hoc distribution, or the Program (e.g., submitting fraudulent reviews of Your own Application or any third-party application, choosing a name for Your Application that is substantially similar to the name of a third-party application in order to create consumer confusion, or squatting on application names to prevent legitimate third-party use). Further, You will not engage, or encourage others to engage, in any unlawful, unfair, misleading, fraudulent, improper, or dishonest acts or business practices relating to Your Covered Products or Corresponding Products (e.g., engaging in bait-and-switch pricing, consumer misrepresentation, deceptive business practices, or unfair competition against other developers)."
Appeal
If you would like to appeal this termination decision to the App Review Board, you must do so within 30 calendar days. When submitting your appeal, be sure to select "I would like to appeal an app rejection or app removal" from the drop-down menu on the Contact the App Review Team page and provide a written statement that includes the following:
A thorough explanation of the issues we identified
Specific steps you will take to prevent its recurrence
New information clarifying these issues, if you disagree with our findings
I appealed the very next day but still waiting for a good response from last 5 days. If anyone can help?
Hi,
I can't find clearly the information in the guidelines so I ask it there, is it allowed to have a section in my games where people can use coupon code to redeem gifts ? For example a new hero is added, bam I distribute on my social networks a coupon code to use in-game to get 300 diamonds and 20,000 gold
This is something I saw on multiple games on the app store and I want to be sure i'm allowed to do it without being shutdown.
The guidelines mentions unlocking content or features or packs ( so that's not those 3 things ).
Best Regards,
Hugo
Hello Apple Developer Forum,
I am currently facing an issue with the review process for my iOS app, Add-ons for GMod. It has been stuck in review for the past 3 to 4 days, and I have yet to receive any updates regarding its status.
Given that the typical review time for apps is usually much shorter, I am concerned about the delay and would appreciate any insight or assistance in resolving this matter. Could you kindly provide an update on the current status of my submission or advise if there are any additional actions I need to take to move the process forward?
Thank you in advance for your attention to this issue. I look forward to your prompt response.
I’ve been waiting almost two weeks for Apple to complete my app review, and there’s still no progress. This is the third time in a row I’ve faced long delays—previously waiting three weeks and two weeks.
It’s really frustrating trying to stick to a schedule when these delays keep happening. Is there any way to speed things up or get some clarity?
I'll appreciate any assistance here.
Thanks!
Hello everyone,
I’m facing repeated rejections under Guideline 1.4.1 for my AI-powered chat app, which Apple claims provides “medical advice or treatment without appropriate regulatory approval.” However, I’m not sure which exact parts of my app are causing these flags.
I’ve already:
• Removed any wording that might imply diagnoses or therapy
• Added disclaimers in the app and on the App Store listing clarifying that we do NOT provide any medical or mental health services
• Requested screenshots or specific details from Apple but received only the same generic response to provide “regulatory clearance”
Has anyone else encountered this situation? If so, how did you get more specific guidance from Apple, or how did you resolve the issue without official medical certifications?
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Hi.
I have been rejected five times on this same issue that this app is a copycat. We developed this app from scratch, and we are the original authors of this app. And the app review team does not tell us about which part of metadata or our game makes this problem. We are planning to start open beta very soon, but we are keep getting rejected. I can prove that we are the original developers if needed. Please help.
Our app is an investment platform, and it’s critical for us to know the user’s Country and Phone Number before they enter the app. This information helps us display personalized screens and ensure the user only sees relevant mutual funds and stocks specific to their home country.
Currently, we are considering implementing a flow where:
Users complete the initial sign-up process without entering their Country or Phone Number.
After clicking the “Sign Up” button, but before accessing the app, they would be presented with an additional screen to provide their Country and Phone Number.
We would like to confirm if this approach aligns with Apple’s guidelines for collecting user information during onboarding. Your feedback will help us ensure compliance while providing a personalized and relevant experience for our users.
Please let us know if further clarification or additional details are needed.
Thank you for your time and assistance!
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of creating an app that has been rejected and going through the appeals process successfully? - how long did the appeal response take, did they call / message you to resolve it?
For context, I have an app that has been rejected for use of the Photo's API. I removed the Photo's API, now it's being rejected for the core concept. The core concept is similar to already approved apps. I tested the competing apps only to learn they are using the Photo's API to do the same thing I was doing.
I have submitted an Appeal twice and never got a response from anyone other than the person who's reviewed and rejected my app.
Hi,
I am a freelance developer who built a CRM and as part of the package provide a ToDo application. I managed to convince a client to get a White-Labeled solution for the application from me & uploaded in the client's developer profile (My profile has full developer access).
Now, when I am uploading my original app for my other CRM users - App Store Review team is rejecting the app with the following message: "We noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences.Submitting similar or repackaged apps is a form of spam that creates clutter and makes it difficult for users to discover new apps.".
They mention - "other developers"; but the other developer is me - having full access rights.
I have replied to the rejection 4 times with these comments & I feel they are just not reading my comments.
Its disheartening to see that all the work you put in, apps get rejected for absolutely no reason.
I have already appealed and I am unsure what I should do next.
I have submitted my game app for review (first release) but it was rejected due to "Regarding guideline 4.3, we continue to noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences.". I've made attempts to explain to the reviewer on the originality but no success.
Some unique features of the app:
Arcade style platform with multiple mini-games
All games have unique mechanics, and they are supported by AI/ML algorithms to alter the difficulty based on the user's prior performances
Various modes to compete with other users for rewards
There are more but I prefer not to go too much into detail publicly as I strongly believe that it's an original game app, and don't want to disclose the full design; Happy to be proven otherwise.
Essentially, I didn't find any games in the app store with AI/ML to alter the settings per play with competitive aspect involved. This was explained to an app reviewer during a 1:1 consultation, and they fully supported the originality, and my only task was to explain this to the app reviewer; I initially did not do a good job explaining this in full detail.
However, still getting 4.3 spam rejection. My only assumption is that I'm no artist, so I'm using open source assets, which I've altered the colors and sizes to deviate from complete 1:1 copy of graphics.
I've submitted an appeal (pending) and was also recommended to post on dev forums for guidance. Posting here in the hopes of getting guidance around 4.3 spam.
Thank you.

My app was approved a week ago for the first version, and the subscriptions were submitted along with it. However, the subscriptions have been stuck in the “Waiting for Review” status for a week. I submitted a request under the “App Review” topic, but I haven’t received any response.
What should I do next?
Yesterday, version 1.0.1 of my app was approved. I thought that submitting another version might resolve the issue, but it didn’t. This is so frustrating. Any advice?
