As a part of moving my app to a subscription model, I'm now struggling with allowing the user to manage their active subscription. I have the infrastructure in place to purchase, restore and query all the receipt data from Apple's servers and am currently testing with sandbox accounts. What I'm struggling with is knowing what subscription APPLE thinks the user is subscribed to. This is only a problem when the user wants to change their subscription but either upgrading or downgrading. What can happen is that a user might decide to change their subscription (to take affect after their current subscription expires, etc.) I want to be able to show the user what they are subscribed to, but for the life of me, I don't know how to do it. It's not always the "most recently purchased and still active" subscription as determined by inspecting the receipts. Obviously I could remove the ability to change the subscription plan from within the app... or just allow only ONE product per group. But that feels wrong. Does anyone know how to simply ask Apple (programatically) "What product is the user currently subscribed to?" Apple's rules say only one product per group, but I can't find this info documented anywhere.

I'm hoping fellow developers will have advice for me as Apple refuses to even acknowledge this issue. My app is "Camera Lucida" and is a highly rated app that has been continually improved upon since 2010. Another developer fairly recently created an app that is similar in nature, but very, very different and very poorly reviewed. The developer named the app, "Camera Lucida ・". The extra dot at the end of the name does not show up on the iOS springboard, settings page and other locations. As a result, I continually am getting support emails from people purchasing this copycat app. This is because my support web page is easily found on the web. This app is very negatively impacting my brand. Apple refuses to do anything about it - even refusing to acknowledge what I'm typing in my support emails. I've even asked them about getting Trademarks, etc. - but because the name wouldn't be exactly duplicated, Apple won't even say if that would work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Someone has created an app with the same name as mine, but appended the word, "Pro" on the end. When I installed it, the name of the app is identical on my springboard screen (it does not include the word, "Pro") and even when you go into settings it's an exact duplicate of my program's name. On the first several screens when you run the app it also uses my app's name exclusively. I cannot find any "contact us" topics with Apple that fit this category! I have screenshots to share, but can't figure out how to report this to apple using the various "contact us" topics. Does anyone know the best way to address this topic?
