APFS Container Resizing Issues 49153

Running into strange error when attempting to resize a APFS container. Example APFS container is currently 499g with 161g free. Attempted to resize to 425, which should be logically okay. Removed other created APFS volumes with container that weren't necessary. GUI no go & apfs resizeContainer both kick back same error. fsck / apfs checks all come up green.

That didn't fix the issue for me.

Apple seems to know about the issue. The told me that there is already a bug report (id 34077846).

I hope there will be a fix soon.

Is there any new Information on this? Still having the same issue :-(

Seems like this link works.

I've had so many problems with APFS that I've gone back to HFS. I've totally lost 3 different pertitions under APFS.

MacBook Pro (mid 2012) 940GB SSD Transend JetDrive 725 High Sierra 17C85a.

I have the same problem as well and in my case it's not because of Time Machine so that "tmutil thinlocalsnapshots / 9999999999999999" solution doesn't work. Has anyone found a different solution?

I've tried to create Bootcamp partition many times. When I've set the size larger than default (40GB) I recevied "resize error" but when I left default value for Bootcamp size it was finally create. Unfortunetly 40GB is to small for Windows with few aplications so i want to enlarge Bootcamp partition. I recive the same error as above.

Same issue. I've been trying to install Windows with Bootcamp but keep getting that resize error. This is from 3 years ago and it's still not fixed? Been trying for days.
