iOS/iPadOS 14/14.0.1 causing rapid battery drain

I’m experiencing extremely rapid battery drain on both the iPhone as well as the iPad.All background apps are turned off and I have optimized the settings even to the extent of minimum brightness where I can barely see anything.
The iPad used to drain about 10% per hour of streaming, now drops 10% every 40 minutes.
This forces me to leave the apple eco system if it isn’t resolved soon.
