App Store code redemption issue

I don't know what incompatibility issue this error refers to

The error literally tells you that it refers to platform, which is device. Devices include OSs and sport various hardware options. So while that error may be the backend's best quess (and could be well off the mark), it means what it says - the device being used is not compatible. All it doesn't say is why.

What is the status of that app?

How long ago was the code generated?

Did you monkey with date/time on that device and forget to make it actual?

Does the device have sufficient free space?

Has the device been recently upgraded to a newer and/or beta OS?

Still no joy, flush that code, make a few new ones and put them to the test.

Yea i can see it does refer to the device but that doesn't make much sense since it worked fine before also this error appear on on 2 different iPhones (different generations even).

My app's status is pending developer release.

the code was generated a few days ago after my app was approved.

No.

Plenty

No. this issue appears on the same version that worked before, 13.6, both on device and the SDK that the code was complied with. All of which worked last week. Which leads me to think this is an App Store bug.

I've tested 2 codes that were generated at two separate times.

I'm also experiencing this problem. My App has just been approved and awaiting Developer Release. I normally perform UAT by sending promo codes to my clients QA team before I release the app publicly. But I'm getting this message when I try redeeming the generated promo code.

Yeah, exactly the same thing. The issue resolved itself when I've released my app to pre-order.

Same problem here, app is "Pending Developer Release". Never had an issue with promo codes working while an app was "Pending Developer Release" in the past.

I have a similar issue... I have an update that is Pending Developer Release and the only way to do a final test on production in-app purchase receipts etc. is via promo code...

App Store confirms the promo code and says the app is downloading, but it just never downloads. I've tried on multiple devices and accounts, no error, but no app downloads. 🤦🏻‍♂️
