App transfer stuck ?

I am in the process of moving my apps from one dev account to a new dev account.

I tried moving 1 app first, evrything went as expected and in the end I received an email stating "app transfer could take up to 3 hours".

The next day, it still was not transferred, so I contected the support.

A few days later, they replied "our engineers are looking into the issue".

Now, 4-5 days later its still not moved, and I even tried moving another app, which is also stuck now.

Has anyone completed an app transfer recently ?

Cheers,

Tony Fonager

I am also having the same problem. No progress yet!

At this point, you guys should use iTunes Connect's "Contact Us" module. The folks at Apple's end will be able to get everything sorted out.

Ohh, I already contacted them the day after the transfer.

After 2 days they replied back that they were looking into the issue.

I then asked them again 2 days later, and it was the same answer.

Its really frustrating, I mean, the function has been there forever and now the first time I use it, its making me hang here :-)

Cheers,

Tony

Isn't bureaucracy fun? 😕

Call 'em and stay on the phone until you get a more suitable reply?

Apple Developer Relations:

(800) 633 2152

(408) 974 4897

Thanks for sharing that info, KMT.

Talked to them on the phone - they actually called me. He said he wanted to send me an email with further instructions.

20 minutes later I got a standard "where did you get the error, what was the error message and what browser did you use" support kinda email.

I then replied back with screenshots and all data of how to reproduce the issue, and I have now 3 apps in "transfer limbo" :-)

Its been 6 days now, very frustrating, - but lets see if something happens soon.

Just wanted to give you an update - its now 9 days since I contacted Apple.

I have not heard from them since I talked to them on the phone this wednesday, even though I responded to his request with 8-10 screenshots and a deep description of how to reproduce the error.

I have sent reminders two times since, but no reply.

Really, really disappointed on how little interest they obvious has in solving the transfer app issue.

And now a 3. guy from Apple has contacted me, about this issue.

"Hi I am XYZ from Apple, just want to let you know that our engineers will try to resolve the issue as soon as possible ..."

Same answer for 9 days now, from 3 different people, incl 1 phonecall, and even though that I 5 days ago basically pointed out what the issue was including how to reproduce the issue, nothing has happened.

I know I am a microscopic fish in the ocean of gigantic Apple Developers, but again ....

I am 6+ weeks into a stuck application transfer.

Apple's only response is that their "developers are looking into it". There is no ETA for a fix. A quote from second level support:

I have checked with our engineers and they let me know they are reviewing your issue. Once I have an

update from them I’ll follow up with you.

As I can understand you would like to get this revolved in a timely manner I can assure you that our internal

teams are doing everything they can to expedite this for you. Please note that by trying to transfer the app

again could cause more errors.

That was one month ago. Does not sound like they are expediting anything.

My Google app transfer was done in hours.

Ohh nooo, thats exactly the same answers they are giving me.

So I guess im in for a loong wait, only having waited 11-12 days now.

Well, Apple does not loose any money from these app transfers being stuck, so I can see why this is not that important to them.

Its just so annoying, and after being an iOS developer since the first SDK, I have never experienced anything like this.

The appstore and our apps is what it all evolves around, and when that does not work - they definately should not spend weeks/months trying to fix it.

Lets hope they get it resolved soon :-)

Hi All

The exact thing is happening to me and 2 other peope I know. We are about a week into this and I did contact support, even elevated this to a superior but it's not in their hands. They said their engineers are looking into this. I wonder if lots of people complain, will it make a difference?

Same here, I initiated a transfer 2 days ago and still waiting...

Same here. Transferred 3 apps from our Dev's account to our corporate account. All apps are technically identical but differ in colors and content filter parameters. One came through quickly, two others have been stuck for two weeks already. Our developer can't do anything, we can't do anything. Been on the phone with 3 different people but no one could tell me what was wrong.

We have legal and contractual obligations to change functionality this month, the update is ready to go but we're completely stuck. No reason given, no ETA given. With approaching contractual deadlines it's getting more and more likely that we're going to have to release the update as an entirely new app, losing all current users in the process.

What bothers me is that Apple just doesn't seem to give a **** and there is no way to actually reach someone who knows what's going on.

Question: has anyone actually had a transfer go through after it went in transfer limbo for a while? From what I read so far, no one has managed to get the ball rolling again.

I am sorry to hear that, and I truly share your frustration.

Since I last wrote here (its getting trivial), I have been contacted by 2 new Apple supporters all trying to convince me that they are doing what they can to resolve my issue.

But nothing has happend - the last replies was 6 days ago, and 3 days ago - but they were all "hey sirs, I can assure you that we do our best and that you are very important to me" replies ...

And that all sounds nice, but so far these last 3 weeks I have been in contact with 5 different Apple supporters and recived 1 phonecall from Apple - and even though that sounds alot, my issue has not moved an inch!

I am still waiting, and my tranfer was initated on Aug 26, 2015. Still getting the same usless responses from Apple.

The next big question will be what will happened once the 60 day transfer agreement expires (in 4 days). Will may transfer still go through (since it has been accepted), will it autoamtically be cancelled, and need to be re-initated? Will it create a new "bug" in their transfer process, that will take for ever for them to fix.

App transfer stuck ?
