Recently I installed iPadOS public beta and bought an external third party keyboard. The spacebar of the keyboard does not work properly on some applications including the native email app. When I clicked on the spacebar, it inputs newline instead of space. Also, I noticed I can input space by clicking on shift+spacebar or alt+spacebar.
I tried with another keyboard and same issues persists. Is this an issue from iPadOS public beta?
Anyone experiencing the same issues?
Why Apple engineers are so stupid as to default to using the Space bar as the hotkey for Activate when Full Keyboard Access enabled? Didn't they ever test this with any application? Sigh!
Magic keyboard spacebar no longer works after update
This happened to me, if you open settings, scroll down to accessibility, click on the keyboard option and disable the option Full Acces Hope this helps :)

On iPad Pro with iPadOS 16.6. issue also fixed by unchecking the Full Keyboard Access, which is under Accessibility/Keyboards
Can´t see any solution to this besides disabling full access keyboard. I saw the Activate Function in commands and it was set up to Space. Cleared the key, and all worked just fine.
fixed it by disabling “Full Keyboard Access” (option in Settings/Keyboard). Thanks to whoever first suggested that! (Brilliant!)
Hello, the fix to this issue is go to settings tap accesibility tap keybords then turn off full keyboard access Your Welcome!

That cleared my problem with the spacebar. Thank you for the help. Still other keyboard problems:
Onscreen keyboard popping up even though I'm using external keyboard. It used to be that the onscreen would pop up only when not using the external keyboard.
On ipad, Cmd-tab would switch between open windows--similar to desktop. I'm noticing that is gone. Any suggestions?
