Using Xcode, I tried to delete the irrelevant code, but I ran into errors.

I would recommend factory resetting it. If possible I would recommend using apple support, or taking it to an Apple Store.

I would recomend the built in tutorials.
Swift playground is the exact same as Xcode playgrounds.
It is simply in it's own app, alongside some tutorials, and is pointed towards new/ younger developers.
