With Beta 3 all was fine, and my Mac Studio booted in seconds. After typing in the password it would zip almost straight to the desktop and all was working fine. I updated to Beta 4, and now I type in my password, and it takes a good 80 seconds to get to the desktop. The process stops at around 60%, 10 seconds in. Then it sits there for 70 seconds and then gets into the desktop and all is fine. "Obviously" a login item is slowing it all down, and it wasn't before. Things I have tried already; I disabled all the Login Items, including all the Background ones, and the issue is still present. I tried creating a new account on the Mac Studio, but that account had the long boot issue as well. When booting in Safe Mode, the issue is NOT there. It is a slow boot for sure, but it is actually faster than when I boot normally. Hence, I am sure the issue is related to a login item. I disconnected all peripherals, and the long boot is still present. As we don't really have Verbose mode anymore, I can't easily check what is causing the stop/start in the boot sequence... Anyone?

Just when I was setting up Catalina (Beta 19A501i) after an upgrade from Mojave, I mistakenly created a folder at the root on my system drive in Catalina. I populated the folder with some LightRoom libraries, before realising that I should/could not have these at the root of my system drive.I have copied them elsewhere, but now I need to get rid of that folder, and I can't...I tried disabling SIP, but still I can't delete the folder (I have enabled SIP again). What can I do?

I use a Thunderbolt Bridge setup to direct-connect to my QNAP NAS. Obviously I have a unique IP setup for that connection, which is not conflicting with my Ethernet network. When I updated from 11.2 to 11.3 Beta 3, and now Beta 4, the Thunderbolt Bridge stopped working entirely. Leaving the Network settings, and leaving the Thunderbolt cable plugged into a Thunderbolt port on my Mac Pro, the boot time increases to 4 minutes, and when in macOS, my HomePod stereo pair cannot be used as default sound for macOS anymore. The second I reboot without the Thunderbolt cable to my NAS plugged in, all is fine. My other Thunderbolt devices work just fine, like my Sonnet external PCIe enclosure, my Lacie SSDs, my ATDs, and my Lexar Thunderbolt card reader. Today I setup a completely fresh install of Big Sur 11.2.3 on an external SSD, and my Thunderbolt Bridge worked fine. The second I upgraded this fresh install to 11.3 Beta 4, the Thunderbolt stopped working again. Fishy...

I have a Trash I can't empty (which I have reported earlier), and something prompted me to run FirstAid. I booted up in Recovery mode, and started up FirstAid, and guess what? Yes, I have an issue. However, FirstAid can't fix it (I have tried twice). I get the message that "First Aid process has failed. If possible back up the data on this volume. Click Done to continue."My 1TB internal SSD is named Master, and I have a 200GB BootCamp partition running on it as well.My Master SSD has one containers, and 2 volumes, "Master" and "Master - Data". The error is on my "Master - Data" volume.Of course I have backups, both Time Machine, as well as external backup of my user folder. What should I do?

After the latest update, 10.15 Beta (19A526h), I have an issue I hope other people have had and solved...In my LaunchPad I didn't loose any programs, I did however "Gain" an empty folder, and I can't get rid of it.I can rename it, but if I put an app into it, the app immediately disappears; it is not the empty folder, or anywhere else. How the heck do I get rid of that empty folder? And please do not suggest that I reset LaunchPad. I literally have hundreds of applications, all categorised and in appropriate folders...

OK, I may have done something stupid, but I need help to get out of the situationI backed up my users folder, so I could do some cleaning up. I quickly realised that this was the wrong way, so I deleted the folder I had created in the copy process. Now I have a folder sitting in my Trash, which I cannot get rid of. It contains the folder "Mobile Documents" which is in the users Library folder, and it has about 50 folders in it. No files, just empty folders, some with more empty folders. When I try to empty my Trash, I get the message that the files are in use.I have tried a bunch of things;1) rebooted and tried again,2) in terminal I used "cd ~/.Trash", and then "rmdir -r FOLDER", but I get the message that it is an illegal option,3) in terminal I used "lsof" and then dropped the folder in there, but I do not get a list of what app has got the files open,4) in recovery mode, I ran First Aid.And nothing has worked, I still cannot get rid of that folder or its contents. What to do?

I have a boot camp partition on my SSD in my nMP, on which I am running Windows 10 Pro - this has been working for ages. However, since the upgrade to Catalina I have experience one big problem with this setup:If I use boot manager to get into Windows, when I reboot from inside Windows, the shutdown procedure stalls. I eventually have to stop/start, and the system now defaults to WIndows. I get the sense that the problem is that Windows is not able to update the boot files correctly - which is why it hangs, and why it defaults to WIndows.Anyone else have issues with this?
