PayPal iTunes Bug?

In the past few months I get about one person a week who contacts me and tells me that they made an IAP and the money was taken, but they didn't get the functionality. When they do retore it says there is no record of purchase.


They send me a screenshot of their recipt. Of course they could fake this, but I am inclined to give the benefit of the doubt.


One thing I have noticed is that it is always a PayPal reciept that is sent.


Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Are they asking you directly for a refund?


Are you tracking reciepts on your own server(s)?


Not sure how PPal ties into IAP, tho, unless you're using 'IAP' generically...

I have this EXACT same issue. We do receipt validation server side and everything by the book. Everyone who messages has a valid receipt from Apple, but their subscription data/receipt is never sent to the app, and our servers never receive the subscription update hook from Apple.

I'll make one clarification about some confusion that was on this thread previously. The receipt is from Apple, but it says the user paid with IAP using PayPal as the source.

I'm at my wits end about this. Anyone have any tips?

We have the same issue with users using Paypal with their Apple ID. Did anyone find an answer?
