Using Developer iOS and iPadPS 18.2 - I noticed a communications issue with AirTags. They airtag shows last location, but cannot communicate to make it make a sound. I reset one of the AirTags and now it will not connect to either iPhone 15Pro or IPad Pro. The battery is good and I've completed every troubleshooting step. has anyone else experienced this behavior?
I am experience the exact same issue on a 16 Pro Max and M2 iPad Pro
I also have the same problem with an iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 18.2 Beta 1 and an AirTag
iOS 18.2 Beta 2 update fixes the problem.

Same issue with Iphone 13 Pro running 18.2 (22C5125e) not sending updates from an old airtag I have.
The AirTag communication problem that I had with iOS 18.2 Beta 1 was resolved when I updated to the Beta 2. However, while trying to get it to work with the Beta 1 software, I reset the AirTag and then repaired it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. That by itself didn't help but a short while later I updated to the Beta 2 version and it began working normally. Maybe if you try reseting the AirTag and use the iOS 18.2 Beta 2 software it will work.
My phone shows my own personal AirTag as “an unknown item detected near you.”
I can ping it, but when I bring my phone near it, it doesn’t recognize it. I disconnected it from my Find My app, but it still shows as it near me but cannot pair to my phone.
Im on 18.2 developer beta, replaced battery, restarted phone, did all recommendations to reset the AirTag.

Recently upgraded from iPhone 13 Pro Max to 15 Pro Max and downloaded the beta software when I first got it. It was a while before I realized I couldn’t ring or use precision finding on my AirTag even though I could see the location of the AirTags. After resetting both my AirTags and iPhone I decided to put my phone into recovery mode and downgrade to iOS 18.1. The problem was fixed. The beta software is not AirTag friendly.
