Personal vs. company name

My company, though not a corporation or LLC, is officially registered with the Oregon Department of Corporations and has an official certificate which allows contracting with the state. This is not a county DBA; the term DBA does not appear.

Can my company name be my app publication name in the app store?

I actually formed a limited company specifically so that I would get a company name in the app store, rather than my personal name.

Of course as soon as I did that, Apple stopped showing the developer name under the app name in the app store, and instead show a new "subtitle" or "promotional text"....

The result has been an increase in bureaucracy in my life and zero change in sales.

Can you get a DUNS number?

I can apply for one. Is getting one sufficient?

Apple says "While many types of businesses can receive a D-U-N-S Number, your business must be recognized as a legal entity (such as a corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability company)" so I think the DUNS number won't help.

Thanks. We had an LLC in California ($800 per year!) and a Limited Partnership in Oregon costs only $100 per year. But I see your point; I'll skip it for now at least. Thanks!
