app in review

Good morning everyone.

I recently uploaded an app to the app store (Version 14).

On the iTunesConnect page, I can see my version 14 app. It shows "Waiting for Review." That means Apple has received the app, and someone from Apple will soon review my app. Am I correct?

Also, when I clicked on the app, I went to another page where I could add someone (myself in this case) to test the app. But when I add myself as a tester, it says "No Builds Available." That doesn't make sense. I already uploaded an app that shows it is ready for review but also indicates "No Builds Available." Please help me understand.

Thanks so much for your time.

Hello @arasharcher. I'm not an expert in TestFlight or App Store Connect. Here's what I understand:

It shows "Waiting for Review." That means Apple has received the app, and someone from Apple will soon review my app. Am I correct?

Yes.

when I add myself as a tester, it says "No Builds Available."

If you added yourself as an external tester (which it appears you did), the app will go through TestFlight App Review before the build is made available. A review is only required for the first build of a version. Subsequent builds may not need a full review.

Please see TestFlight beta testing overview (iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS), and contact Developer Support if you have more questions about either TestFlight or App Store Connect.

Hey @Jason, thanks for your responses.

You mentioned: Please see TestFlight beta testing overview (iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS), and contact Developer Support if you have more questions about either TestFlight or App Store Connect.

Your request limits my activity here. I contacted Developer Support and they sent me here. So at this point I understand that I can write any issues I have designing my apps. Unless you represent Apple and in that case, I would call Apple and let them know that this is not a useful comment.

Thanks.

@arasharcher, the  logo next to my name indicates that I'm an Apple employee. As I mentioned, I'm not an expert in TestFlight or App Store Connect. I'm simply trying to help you understand and resolve your issue.

It's unfortunate you didn't find my comment useful, and I welcome your feedback on how you think it can be improved.

It's unclear if you reviewed the documentation I linked to, and found it unhelpful.

Likewise, I'm unclear if you added yourself as an external tester (as I'm assuming you did), if the app was approved for TestFlight by App Review, if you've added the build to a group for external testers, etc (all mentioned in the documentation link I provided).

—Jason.

I appreciate your help and your answer was useful. I wasn't talking about your answer. Your answer was totally useful.

But AGAIN asking me to contact the Apple Developer if I had more questions, made me frustrated.

It has been a few weeks that I have been trying to find a place to ask my questions, hours on the phone. After tons of phone calls I found a number that I could request a phone call from Apple Developer Team. But every time apple called my number, they sent an email saying that "Your phone sent us to voice mail.

So I called technical support and went through my phone setting for about 45 minutes. But the problem of "going to voice mail" still not resolved.

Finally I found this forum. And you (Apple) did respond. But you sounded like I need to "contact Developer Support if you have more questions about either TestFlight or App Store Connect".

I am not attacking you. So you don't need to defend yourself.

I have noticed a weakness that is blocking me from contacting Apple Developer Team or even the way this forum works. And I need to address it.

Thanks.
