Ipad app update rejected for referencing to pre-release versions of Apple software, products, and hardware

Hello,

I built and submitted an update to my iPad-only app with official Xcode 14 (14A309) and got rejected as in the message below.

I don't mention anywhere in my app information about iPadOS 16. Does this mean to provide an app update for ipad now i must use Xcode 13?

Thanks, Nam

Hello,

The issues we previously identified still need your attention.

If you have any questions, we are here to help. Reply to this message in App Store Connect and let us know.

Program License Agreement 2.3 - Confidential Nature of Pre-Release Apple Software and Services

Your app or its metadata still contains references to a pre-release version of Apple software, products, or hardware. Apps with compatibility references to a pre-release candidate version of an Apple operating system or pre-released Apple products or hardware are not in compliance with the Apple Developer Program License Agreement.

Next Steps

Please remove all references to pre-release versions of Apple software, products, and hardware from your app and its metadata.

Apps built for iPadOS 16 only will be eligible to be submitted to the App Store as Release Candidates at a later date. These apps can continue to be tested with TestFlight using Xcode 14 beta 6. See the announcement on Apple Developer for more information.

I have the exact same problem. It's also an iPad-only app built with Xcode Version 14.0 (14A309).

here the same :-(

Same problem here. I have replied to the rejection asking them to point to where the app mentions the pre-release software.

For now I am going to re-upload using an older version of XCode

Same situation as you guys. I am also trying the old Xcode. Hopefully it will still build (just have to download it first).

I had to resubmit with a new build with Xcode 13.4.1 and got approved. Hope this helps.

I just had a call with an apple representative and he suggested using Xcode 13 or also enabling iOS functionality.

Same problem here

Same here. My app is for iPad only. If I need to downgrade Xcode from 14 to 13, what a surprise!!

I experienced the same problem with both Xcode 14 (14A309) and 14.0.1(14A400). When I built with Xcode 13 it got approved.

I did not have to downgrade Xcode 14. I could keep both Xcode 13 and 14 on the same machine and just use Xcode 13 when I build for App Store and Xcode 14 during development/TestFlight.

Same problem here. Solution was to submit using Xcode 13. No other changes were necessary.
