How does the Zoom app manage to pass the AppStore review without In App Purchase

I have developed and submitted an app that is very much like Zoom to the AppStore review. Unfortunately, I got rejected by them mentioning that I must include "In-app purchase" to the app to purchase "meeting subscriptions". But in my app "meeting subscriptions" purchases are in a web portal outside the app same as Zoom. That subscription packages are used to increase the number of participants in the meeting and it does not unlock any feature in the app. So what can be the exact point that led to the rejection of my app while zoom does not?

You don't know (I suppose) what Zoom did exactly.

And in any case, the argument that another app has passed is never considered by the reviewer board. All you have to do is analyse carefully the rejection message and

  • either modify your app
  • or explain why it does not violate any guideline (but do not take the argument of another app).

Good luck.
