User Privacy and Data Use - App Store - Apple Developer

”With iOS 14.5,iPadOS 14.5, and tvOS 14.5 and later, you’re required to ask users for their permission to track them across apps and websites owned by other companies.”

Seems odd that macOS isn’t mentioned but that you have to disclose in a privacy nutrition label the usage. Can someone from Apple reply so we know what we have to do when updating our old Mac App? Thanks.

desktops seldomly move around from point a to point b and are not fitted with GPS. The location derived from the other devices are more accurate than the location associated with an IP address maintained by an ISP.

Hi, the platforms that are required to ask for permission to track are as you noted from User Privacy and Data Use.

You still have to declare to your users how your Mac App Store app uses data, whether the information is used to track them or is linked to their identity or device, even if you're not required to ask for permission to track users.

Is there a specific concern you have?
