Tester stuck in "Tester removed" even with a public link

So we're trying to distribute an app to one of our investors. He was previously in our internal testing group, and we have since switched to distributing the app using external testing via public link, so we've taken him out of our internal testing group and started to distribute the app that way.

However, when he tries to download the app, he sees this on the app page inside of testflight:

Tester Removed

The developer removed you from the test program

So it seems like somehow his status as a former internal tester is overriding the public link.

How can we solve this? It's extremely important to get him access to the app.

I had the same problem.

Open the invitation email on a device that DOESN'T have TestFlight installed.

Tap on the blue "View in TestFlight" button and you will be taken to a testflight.apple.com page which provides a redeem code.

Go to TestFlight on your test device, tap "Redeem" and enter the code.

How did you solve it?

the issue with installing the Krti app through TestFlight. It seems like this might be a compatibility problem with TestFlight. To fix it, try these steps:

  1. Uninstall the TestFlight app.
  2. Reinstall TestFlight.

Solution that worked for me:

  1. Log into appstoreconnect.apple.com
  2. Access your app. Go to TestFlight tab
  3. Locate the group on the left where that user is part of
  4. Remove the user by pressing the checkbox, followed by the "Remove" button
  5. Add the user back by pressing the blue (+) button next to "Testers" header. Choose "Existing" and choose the user from the list.

Their TestFlight should refresh with access to the app.
