iPadOS 15: stuck in a loop after OS update

I updated my iPad M1 2021 with the profile and it is now stuck. I have the locked screen and as soon as I enter the password, it goes into this loop... until it reboots.

Looks like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks-NWKWWRg8

I cannot access the iPad on Mac OS as it requires to be trusted (which I cannot do as the iPad is stuck as soon as I enter the password).

I thought about going into recovery/DFU mode but I believe this only works with the iPad turned off... and I cannot turn it off either.

Any idea on how to resolve this? Thanks!

By chance did you download the recovery dmg? I believe in the notes it said to use if you get stuck.

I did download it and installed it - but not seeing anything different.

The same problem, I have been using iPad mini 4 for 3 years. as soon as I download the profile it just asks to unlock and reboots couldn't find any solutions online since the profile released this morning.

2018 11” iPad Pro and I’m having the same issue here.

I was able to DFU then restore to a backup of 14.6 but upon trying to reinstall iPad OS 15, I ran into the same exact issue.

So for now I am leaving it on 14.6 in hopes the next beta release fixes this.

Same issue, again on 2018 11" iPad Pro. Soon as I unlock the device springboard seems to crash. This loops a fews times then the entire screen turns pink and the iPad turns off. Also did DFU restore to 14.6.

Having the exact same issues here on a 12.9 2018 iPad Pro. Unable to get my Mac to see the iPad though, so I can't DFU restore it from there.

So frustrating. Same thing for us. All three of our iPad Mini 4 devices went into APPLE LOGO restart screen after installing the beta.

I mean, I could see it on one device… maybe two? But all three?

and before critics respond with “why did you keep going off it crashed the first one?”… well because we’re BETA TESTING!! We did the second iPad mini 4 so see if it was a fluke. We did the 3rd unit to prove “something is not right here - we have three different iPads running three different setups to provide it”

Did anyone at Apple actually install this on the current iPad mini 4? Because 3 out of 3 seems like the answer is a solid “no we did not”.

I so wish I had read this BEFORE I decided to update my now useless iPad Mini 4. Same as above. Went through the install just fine, restart to Apple logo..................

To Razomaid - 4 out of 4

Has anyone found a way to reset the iPads to a useful state?

Unfortunately, the only way to resolve it was for me to take it back to the Apple Store and they proceeded to an exchange (it was only a few weeks old).

Hi, i had Ipad OS 15 beta 2 installed on my 2nd generation Ipad pro 11", i was switching from app to another till the screen got darker and stuck with no action can be taken however, i tried to force shutdown and then the loop remained stuck.

Immediately, i connected with my itune but didn't succeed as it is asking me to authorize the device while i am not able to do anything since the Ipad was stuck!

1 hour later (the screen still stuck), it came to my mind to erase the Ipad when i discovered that the Ipad is still sending the location. I made such action from my Iphone and thanks God the Ipad restarted again as it is new (currently i am restoring the latest backup).

I had the same problem twice on my phone once downloaded the beta

I had the same problem after I download the iOS 15. But I manage to fix it. After you unlock your iPad, I erased all the data with my iPhone in the app Find My. Since the iPad was still connected to the internet. Then the apple logo will Strat to load. Then I setup the iPad without a back up, why? because I tried and after setting up everything I got the same problem. So set your iPad from zero. Thats how I fix it.

I had the exact issue yesterday with my IPad Pro 12.9. The only way I found to fix it was to force erase with “find my” using my iPhone. Then when you re set it up do not restore using an iCloud back up, restore it (manually restore apps etc), as when I used a back up (I tried 2 different back ups a week apart) I had the same issue! Took me 3 hours to sort, good thing all my stuff is on ICloud or one drive

Note I also tried to restore using ITunes, but on 3 difference devices (2018 XPS 15, 2020 XPS 13 and a desktop) I could not see the connected IPad in iTunes or device manager (tried factory cable and 3rd party cables)
