https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt returns errors

We are also getting this issue in various of NA data centers since 19:00PDT 09/17
buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt return with curl error message

OpenSSL SSL_connect: SSL_ERROR_SYSCALL in connection to buy.itunes.apple.com:443
and error:14094438:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert internal error and timeout for us.

We can confirm this here from Germany, have been seeing issues since about 1 AM UTC in increasing amount (although that may also be due to our traffic fluctuations). Besides the "alert internal error" we also have had connection aborts, no response after our 6 second time out and the occasional "HTTP 503 Unavailable" error. Some servers in the DNS rotation seem to be affected more than others though.
Apple developer status unfortunately doesn't show anything either and the normal apple status only a resolved issue between 3:16 and 4:45 which doesn't match our logs at all.

Same here, it started also around the same time and it is still failing now, we are getting different SSL errors.

We have problems with buy.itunes.apple.com service too. In my logs I can see:
POST request error : https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt , Failed to create SSL connection - Handshake timout.
It started in the morning, around 3 am UTC.

Same here:

URL error 35: OpenSSL SSLconnect: SSLERROR_SYSCALL in connection to buy.itunes.apple.com:443

Same here in the UK, errors begun at 02:41 UTC.
Didn't get an error in the last 7 minutes so maybe it has been fixed.

It's still failing. I don't think it's fixed yet, here in South Korea.

We're also seeing this sporadically starting about a day ago. I guess an error on Apple side?

We are still facing this issue, couple of occurrences per hour.

We are also experiencing this since late January 8th 2021 (CET), from less than five up to twenty of such responses per hour. In a few cases it even results in not being able to verify receipts with newly purchased IAPs at all in a reasonable time frame, therefore killing our onboarding-purchase-flow and leading to increased user complaints (since, in contrast, the App Store / StoreKit communication is not affected, i.e. purchases generally go through).

Filed a bug via feedback assistant as well. Hope to hear some news on this soon.
