Oddity with SMBFS

i All,

Big Sur, MBP, 16GB RAM, 1 TB Drive.

Attempting to mount a Windows drive with SMBFS.

mountsmbfs: failed to intitialize the smb library: Device not configured

mount: /Users/eplatt/mnt/dtc failed with 69

or

eplatt@macbook mnt % mount
smbfs //user:passwd@desktop.local/c
/Users/eplatt/mnt/dtc

mount_smbfs: failed to intitialize the smb library: Device not configured

I can mount it fine if I use sudo but then I can't access the folder
as my regular account.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Are you using the current sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/smbfs.kext workaround for Beta 6?
