Big Sur: Wifi dropping constantly

Big Sur is constantly dropping my wifi connection even though I'm less than 10 feet from the router. Sometimes it drops it after only a few seconds, sometimes I can get 20 or 30 seconds and sometimes it shows as connected but I can get any data.

Typically this will go on for 10 or 20 minutes then for some reason it appears to stabilise and stay connected.

It also fails to connect every time I wake the machine.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm seeing the same thing. It's stable for other, then transfer rates go down or connection is constantly lost and reestablished.
A reboot fixes it instantly. Other devices at the same location have no problems at all.

Same problem here since the last release candidate update. Every time my Mac wakes up from a sleep, wifi becomes slow. If I disconnect and try to reconnect, it won't take the password. The only solution would be to either restart or remove the entry from Preferred Connections in the advanced network settings.

I am using a 16 inch MacBook Pro (late 2019 model)

I hope it gets fixed in the final release.

Same issue here even with the latest update. This is on an Intel Mac Mini from 2018. No issues on Catalina.

Has anyone found a solution?

I also have this issue. I find that if I quickly turn wifi off and back on, it will recover the connection and I will not loose my conference call.

Big Sur on MBP 2016, after the MBP goes to sleep and wakes up the wifi is disconnected, the only way to get it back up is to turn the wifi off and back on. very annoying. have tried all the 'fixes' suggested - resetting NVRAM, renaming location, setting dns to 8.8.4.4. DHCP and HOST etc. Nothing seems to work.

Yes. Nothing else drops wifi in the house, not even my old iMac in the exact same position. Only Big Sur. It messes up EVERYTHING. No more Apple after this one, back to reliable old PC.

I have exactly the same problem and have to have my wifi on as a backup. It's not ideal, but ethernet switches on and off almost every 2 to 3 seconds. I've tried everything advised by Apple: unplug and replug the ethernet cable; do a safe start; change location, the lot. It's only Big Sur.

I was experiencing this. Tried everything. It turned out to be Cisco anyconnect VPN I use through my employer - even when quit it was trying to filter the internet (which it couldn't because it wasn't connected). I removed all Cisco stuff from my network preferences and all is good now. This only happened with Big Sur.
