I downloaded and installed the Xcode 12 beta and now want to test on an iOS 14 simulator, but the iOS 14 simulator is not installed and can't be found in Preferences/Components to download. What am I missing?
Nevermind, of course it comes with the xCode build. I could not find 14.0 devices at first. I did a restart and they were there. Maybe they were there before and I overlooked them.

I don't see iOS 14 in the list of simulators either, looking in Preferences | Components. I guess that means we can't use the SwifUI App life-cycle
Can't find it either with Xcode 12 beta.

Xcode never lists the simulators it ships with in the download list. It only shows extra ones you've installed or that are available to install.
This is how I solve the problem, and the only place that I can create any iOS 14 simulator.

I figured out it comes with iPhone 11.
You can check any phone by clicking the simulator button up on the toolbar and go to Add additional simulators....
There you can click on a device and the os version will list at the top of the window.
simulator button > Add additional simulators... > top leftish
