HELP!
In pure frustration i did an 'erase all content and settings' on my ipad air 3 and the problem of random wifi dropping is stil happening.
I've had a problem with wifi since upgrading to IOS 14.1. The wifi signal is strong, but Internet connectivity over wifi is not available - making my new iPhone 11 useless as a wifi device.
I've figured out that the problem is due to IOS 14 apparent incompatibility with Cisco's OpenDNS service , which is the DNS service I use to provide some protection to my young family from some of the more 'adult' aspects of the Web.
In my router, I had the DNS setting set to the recommended IP addresses of the OpenDNS servers.
All other devices on my home network (several Macs, Windows PCS, Android phones, a Smart TV, streaming music devices) all work with OpenDNS. My iphone 11 did too until it received the IOS 14.1 update
I had to remove the DNS setting for OpenDNS, and set my DNS service to that provided automatically my ISP for my iPhone 11 (IOS 14.1) to work.
I find it ironic that I have to lower the security of my home network and the security of its home users in order to get a device with IOS 14 to work on it. I value the OpenDNS service as it provides some level of blocking of certain categories of content at router level.
I can't apparently post a link here, but if you search for 'DNS Resolver Selection in iOS 14 and macOS 11' you will find a link that gives information on this issue.

Code Block
I’ve lost the ability to access cellular data while on a phone call.
I found this solution on the internet. Try turning off VPN under Settings. This allowed me to get internet access working on my iPhone again. To get VPN working on my iPhone again, I had to delete and reinstall my VPN app (McAfee). This worked for me. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Yeah, the same for me, After upgrade myiPhone 8 to iOS 14.2 the Wi-Fi is broken.. it didn’t find/discover anymore any Wi-Fi networks..sometimes after a reset it finds again them, I connect but after a while it disconnect and again doesn’t find any Wi-Fi available anymore..what it is really surprising me is the Apple position, it is evident that this is a bug but they even don’t say “we are working on..” ..nothing..i’m astonished..
Received my new IPhone SE over the weekend and upgraded to 14.2.
Wi-fi unstable all morning. iPhone 6s on iOS 14.2 stable.
Hard reset made no difference on IPhone se made no difference.

Hey,
Getting more than frustrated with this matter... Also since I’ve upgraded my IPhone 11 to IOS 14 (now running 14.2) this has been the norm. Apps that cannot refresh, safari not working properly, email not downloading... you name it!
I always get the strong signal Wi-Fi sign but this just doesn’t mean anything. I’m always going back and forth between Wi-Fi and 4g to get things done! This just shouldn’t happen.
Apple could you please be so kind to provide us with a solution to this problem?
Cheers

Just update to 14.2 because phone was acting glitchy. Hadn't updated in awhile so thought that was the problem. Boy, was I wrong! Anyone figure out a fix for getting on home wi-fi? No matter how many time I reset both the phone and wi-fi it still will not connect. All other devices in the house connecting no problem (laptop, ipad). Ugh!
Just upgraded to 14.2 because I was basically forced to. I received a notification informing me my phone cannot make and receive calls or access cellular data unless I downloaded the update. So I downloaded update and now it won’t install, it just says that my phone isn’t connected to the internet (while being connected to the internet.) This is a huge inconvenience and I would love an answer ASAP! Makes no sense!
I am so frustrated with Apple right now and how they are doing absolutely NOTHING to help anyone with wifi issues. I have tried every form of trouble shooting imaginable to fix my phone. I can't even download the new update because it needs to have wifi in order to do so! My phone SHOWS connection to wifi but is still using LTE data. NOTHING I do is connecting it to WIFI and i know how to google solutions. This is such a joke!
I'm also facing the same issue with wi-fi connectivity, for last three weeks I'm not able to connect my wi-fi & some stupid resolution been floating in the internet, but that's not resolving the issue at all, & in India cellular data speed is just pathetic, its just named as 4G; 2G was far more better than speedy...Please address this is issue at the earliest...
Most new features and functions working as expected however and most frustratingly WiFi is absolutely inconsistent at best. Although iOS shows a good wireless connection and signal, there is no data traffic passing through and thus there is a loss of anything that is dependent on that data. This includes notifications, updates, web browsing, steaming services, etc.... Apple needs to address this issue ASAP or risk market reputation and brand loyalty.
I am having issues too after the update. If I’m not at home my phone doesn’t work for internet or music, or anything that requires internet. Siri is not working either
