How does pricing work in countries with VAT compared to the US?

Let's say the customer price for an app is $9.99 in the U.S. excluding any sales tax. How much would the customer price be in Great Britain (as an example) which has a VAT of 20%. Let's ignore currency conversion to simplify.

U.S. customer price: $9.99
G.B. customer price: ???
  • Would it be $9.99 with VAT inclusive of this amount?

  • OR would it be $11.99 with VAT inclusive of this amount. Excluding VAT would be $9.99

Maybe it depends on the developer pricing, but what would it typically be? I assume the latter ($11.99).

You can log into App Store Connect and see the pricing tiers matrix for your selected regions.

From your app's page: Pricing and Availability, and next to the price tier selected, select Other currencies to see the matching price in other currencies.

Or click on the All Prices and Currencies to the right.

This also shows you your proceeds at each price tier.
