Metadata rejected - what should I do?

Hello everybody ,

Two days ago I submitted my first iOS app. I was super excited. Yesterday my app came back rejected with “metadata rejected”. I am very inexperienced and I kind of panic and tried everything to solve it. I replied in the resolution center and then I made the mistake of clicking submit for review. And now I am waiting.

Sorry to bother you but I really would like to hear from somebody with experience what is going to happen now...

- Since I clicked submit for review will my app be again in the beginning of the queue?

- what happens to my response in the resolution center? Will my reviewer still read it?

- How long, in the worst case scenario will it take to get some feedback back?

Thank you so much.

Best regards,

I believe:

- Since I clicked submit for review will my app be again in the beginning of the queue?

yes.

- what happens to my response in the resolution center? Will my reviewer still read it?

your reviewer should respond that since you submitted an update they are ignoring your response

- How long, in the worst case scenario will it take to get some feedback back?

one or two weeks. - it might be sooner if the queue is short and it might be shorter because it is only metadata 'changes'

There is no need to panic. You can expect rejections for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes the reviewer is doing you a favour by finding a critical bug before 100,000 people start e-mailing you. Sometimes the reviewer doesn't understand the basics of software development. Either way, be polite, address the issue as best you can, and try, try again.

Technically speaking, your app goes to the end of the queue. 🙂

In a few minutes, I am going to reject my own app. It has been sitting waiting for a review all day after a "metadata rejection". But now I have a bug fix I want to get it. Will I go to the back of the queue? I guess. There is no way to predict how long you are going to wait for a review. App Review is very much an arbitrary process, perhaps with psychological ends. Don't let 'em get to you.

Where do I edit y meta data ...i cannot seem to find it on the apple connect page
