Xcode 11.1 GM - older simulators missing

Just installed Xcode 11.1 GM, noticed that only 13.1 simulators were in target menu. Selected Preferences / Components / Simulators and the screen is blank. Typically all available downloadable simulators would be listed here. Restarted macOS, still same result. I do need to test on older Simulators! :-)

beta 8 Catalina update will not install

Today when updating from beta 7 to 8 the installer stops after churning away with install progress bar (the one on black screen with logo only) for many minutes----macOS could not be installed on your computerThe opertion couldn't be completed. Too many levels of remote in pathQuit the installer to restart your computer and try again.(Restart button)----I have had no problems updating Catalina up to this point. After reading some of the other issues with files going missing I'm very leary of this upgrade! Thankfully I'm booting it on external SSD so so far, no problems with internal drive. :-)

For compile-time checking of iPad app running on macOS Catalina is#if TARGET_OS_UIKITFORMAC#endifthe proper method?Also, where can we find sample code that helps show us how to take advantage of macOS peculiarities such as gaining control over window for aspect ratio conforming and full screen option?Thanks in advance
