Same here. I originally thought it was that CreateML could only scan images up to 299 pixels, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Did you eventually find out what was the issue?

It would also be a good idea to add a little note in the comment section when you submit your project.
Also I've seen plenty of projects submitted that utilizes the front camera (you can check the unofficial wwdc 2022 submission github repo)
