I asked the question during the Ask Apple Live Activity session and got the confirmation that using App Groups and sharing the files by storing them in the group's container is the expected solution.

Yeah it would be greate if the would be an Author Template compatible with Swift 5.2 in time for the deadline.Previously there were downloads available for Xcode 11.1 - Xcode 11.3 but everything except the template for Xcode 11.1 got removed agian.
