the viewpoint of Whywouldineedausername is why xcode will never get any better. Will xcode users really fall apart if the braces stayed highlighted? if so, then make it a setting people can toggle, problem solved. I use xcode quite often and it's terrible compared to the other IDEs I use as well in my day to day work.
If Jetbrains didn't take AppCode for me, I'd be using that instead of xcode, I don't get how xcode "regulars" can use this IDE when it lacks so many things even VSCode offers by default.
Apple really needs to try other IDEs and see what xcode is seriously lacking. Now that I know about the double-click trick, that'll do for now.

I also feel like Apple could loosen up things that are only accessible to the account holder, Google also suffers from this issue which I wish both platforms would consider the situation where that one person falls off the face of the earth, there's no case where having one super user is a benefit, having the ability to give that out to more people would ensure no one person has God-like powers over the companies apps. If nothing else, this should be available to those with a business or enterprise license.
I also see that it's now working, it's a little annoying and I feel like Apple is better than this.
Looks like Apple resolved the issue, I'm seeing everything now.
I'm facing this same issue, I hope Apple will resolve this fairly soon.
