I had already filed an enhancement request 2 years ago under FB10393561 but I didn't receive a response.
Other apps can already use it on the App Store, so there must be a way that does not lead to a rejection.

Update: on the iOS 18.1 release candidate the issue is still reproducible on an iPhone 16 (Pro).
Hello @Engineer, we’re seeing many reports that this is still not fixed on the latest beta for iPhone 16 and 16 Pro. Any workarounds you can recommend?

This is urgent, because iOS 18.1 will be released next week and without a workaround many apps will get horrible user experience.
