We have iPhone 4s and 5s devices that we use for app testing. Each 4s and 5s already has TestFlight installed. We routinely "wipe" the phones and restore them from a full backup to prepare a clean image before starting new app testing. In the past, when we restored the 4s and 5s devices from their full backups, TestFlight would be restored to full operation (even though it could not be downloaded as a new app install from the Apple App Store).
Recently, we are no longer able to restore our 4s and 5s iPhones for testing, because TestFlight will not reload. We now have iPhone 4s and 5s test devices that are unusable, because we wiped them and can no longer recover them from their backups.
This is rediculous. There is no good reason why our full backups for existing devices are now crippled. Apple - feel free to prevent new downloads, but please don't prevent restoration of existing apps via full backups. This makes no sense.
