Reply to The App Review Process at Apple is unfair, inconsistent and problematic
Yeah, the app review process is a completely inconsistent nightmare that pretty much comes down to luck of the draw. Did you get one of the decent reviewers that actually wants things on the store, or did you draw the short stick and get the FRIENDLY PERSON that seems to be on a power trip that will find and tiny excuse to reject your app. I work for a medium sized company that has been putting out similar versions of an app for clients for over half a decade and all of the sudden our login screen ‘looks too much like a webpage’ and that gets the app rejected. (Shocker, two text inputs which are kind of how you do a login screen I guess resemble websites…?) Or they all of the sudden have ‘design issues’ with our app, which hey try not to overstep your bounds reviewer; you’re a reviewer not a designer. Then it’s just a game of playing whack a mole with that particularly awful reviewer or pull it from review, wait a week, and hope you randomly get assigned a different reviewer. Your process of getting apps in the store should not be a constant source of headaches and frustrations for the developers that make your store relevant. Without developers and their apps you have nothing.
