What is the minimum Xcode version for app store submission?

This question has been asked many times but quickly becomes out of date. I'm using El Capitan and so the latest version of Xcode I can use appears to be 8.2.1. So my question is, will Apple allow submission of an iOS app to the app store with this version of Xcode?

Not really. Has been the same for a quite a while, I think - iTC still says this about that...


"Submit builds using Xcode 6 or later, or Application Loader 3.0 or later."
