Can't restore iPhone on iOS 11

Hey guys,

I can't seem to restore my iPhone 7 while on iOS 11 Public Beta. On my phone, pressing "Erase all content and settings" yields no action whatsoever - nothing happens. I've also tried to restore it through iTunes (latest version, running Win 10) - but an error appears saying "There was a problem downloading the software [...], requested resource not found."

To make clear - I want to do a factory reset of the Public Beta, not downgrade.

I am just having the same issue on my iPhone 6s. The only solution that comes to my mind is to just wait for the macOS High Sierra public beta to get out so that iTunes can manage iOS 11 on an iPhone. I will then force factory reset from iTunes.

The beta installs it's own firmware, which is not reverted, so there is no chance you can go back to 'factory'.

Which iOS version, exactly are you attempting to go back to?

Having the same issue, attemting to restore phone from iOS 11 beta back to either 10.3.3 or factory settings, keep getting same error message. Any fixes yet?

I’m also having the same issue.. I can’t log into the App Store or even try restore back to 9.3.3 wish I hadn’t updated as it seems there is no way back!

Another unhappy camper. I too signed up for the iOS 11 beta - sorry I did. There was no indication that you would not be able to return 10.3 if you installed 11. Don’t understand why we were cautioned to back up if we can’t revert

It is very possible to revert back to 10.?.?. I've done so multiple times by putting my phone into DFU mode and restoring with the proper firmware.

Did not work on 6S+. It is stuck! Doctor phone tolkit dont find the phone and ReiBoot gives up!

I got the proper software from Aple and now the phone is working again!

I was able to "Erase all content and settings" in iOS 11 only after turning off "Find My Phone" and signing out of the iCloud account on the phone [Settings>"Your Name">Sign out of iCloud].

I was then able to go through the initial setup and log back into iCloud during the setup and I was also able to restore from a iOS 10.3.3 public beta 5 backup I performed the day before.

This was exactly right. First log out of Find My iPhone. Then log out of iCloud. You can restore -- somewhat counterintuitively -- at that point.

Sign out of iCloud and Find my iPhone

The reason you can’t reset an iPhone without turning off Find my iPhone is to stop someone who steals your iPhone from resetting it and then selling it, it’s a good security feature.

Go to find my iphone app and choose your phone and click on erase phone to remotely restore your phone
