iCloud restore failed 9.3

I just had my iPhone 6 Plus replaced for a faulty logic board, and updated the new device to 9.3. When the backup was complete and the phone booted up, the device continuously prompts for my Apple ID password, and says Verification Failed. Apps, data, iCloud content won't restore until the password is accepted. There's really no way around this. Reverted back to 9.2.1 for now but I would like to find a way to restore from my 9.3 backup. Anyone else encountered this?

I'm in the same boat, not ideal.

Same issue here. Have archived a backup of 9.3 and have temporarily reverted to 9.2.1, hopefully in beta 4/public release it'll be sorted and can restore to the backup of yesterday.

Doesn't seem to be any workaround at the moment unfortunately, I've tried restoring from iTunes backup, iCloud backup, deleting the device from iCloud, etc etc but always throws this 'Verification Failed. This action cannot be completed. Try again.' error.

same here 😟 no news?

Im also having this same issue! It's very frustrating because I need to restore my phone from backup. Any solutions?

Ok, I contacted Apple and I got a solution as to restoring it without being able to sign out of icloud because..well, you can't. You will lose your restore because you cant restore a beta ios to non beta ios. So having a non beta backup helps. I didnt have one so I have to start new. What you need to do is set your phone into recovery mode and restore and update.

From chat with Apple:

"Okay. So what we can do is to put the iPhone into Recovery Mode, which will then allow us to Restore the iPhone to iOS 9.2.1. To do that, first you will want to plug your iPhone into the computer with iTunes installed. Once that is done, just press and hold the Power and Home buttons for about 25 seconds. Initially you will see the Apple logo, but just keep holding the buttons until you see the iTunes logo with a charging cord appear on your iPhone. You’ll then want to select the Restore option. This would be the only way to remove the Beta from the iPhone."

This will remove beta and allow you restore and set up as new iphone or restore from a non-beta backup. This seems to be the only workaround with this. I hope that helps!

You can't restore 9.3 you just restore 9.2.1 so what you write here dosen't help the problem, i was today at apple store to see if they can help me, but they told me the same think to downgrade at 9.2, but i don't have any 9.2 back up 🙂) so i lost everything until they make 9.3 beta 4 🙂.

I had the same issue and fixed it with a workaround.

Do a Dfu restore using iTunes to iOS 9.3 beta 2 Ispw

then setup the device with your iCloud or iTunes backup from 9.3 beta 3.

after restoring the backup it will show a restore complete message and it Will ask you a few verification questions.

Turn off the device and unplug it from any power source (disconnect the cable)

when it's turned off press the home button and plug in the cable from your computer into the device and keep resting the home button till the connect to iTunes screen appears.

At that point update the device using the iOS 9.3 beta 3 ispw ( do not restore but use update)

after that the issue should be fixed.

i try and is not working 😟 i goes on ios 9.3 beta 3 😟

the problem is just with beta 3 😟 i have an iphone 6 plus and a iphone 6s plus on iphone 6plus is working perfect and in iphone 6s plus not. i don't know what to do and i can't update all my apps 😟

I'm in the same 9.3 public beta restore ****. The help app crashed every time I opened it under 9.3 beta 3, so I tried to restore the phone to a day old iCloud backup. The resotre completes, but it keeps asking for my iCloud password and verification fails. I had 9.2.1 backups in iCloud before I installed the beta, but they are now replaced with 9.3 backups. Now I can't restore those backups. My only hope is that Apple can fix this verification failure and I can restore these backups sometimes in the future.

I submitted 13 tickets during the 9.3 beta, but now I will stay away from them. I just hope all my data is not forever lost.

Do a Dfu restore using iTunes to iOS 9.3 beta 2 Ispw - completed

Then setup the device with your iCloud or iTunes backup from 9.3 beta 3 - completed

After restoring the backup it will show a restore complete message and it Will ask you a few verification questions. - it's asking for my iCloud password at this point, and verification fails...

Do not complete the questions just turn off the device at the restore complete screen.

"I'm in the same 9.3 public beta restore ****."

Sorry for using an offensive word (H.E.double-hockeysticks) that got banned on this forum, let me correct myself:

I'm in the same 9.3 public beta restore Inferno...
