External drive - 3rd party app

I'm looking for documentation on how 3rd party apps can take advantage of the new external drive support on iPadOS. Can someone point me to the right place?Thank you

Accessories not supported by this device

I just updated my iPad Pro 12.9" to checkout the new Files app. However, when I plug in my Lightning compatible external drive (a sandisk flash drive like in Apple keynote), I get a popup error "this accessory is not supported by this device". Is anyone having the same issue?

Files App - How much visibility?

Hello,In the keynote, I saw the Files app being able to see external flash drive connected via the Lightning port. Is this only available for the iPadOS or also iOS as well? Will it also available in Document Picker?Thank you
