Apple Intelligence stuck on "preparing" for 6 days.

On the October 10/28 release day of Apple Intelligence I opted in. My iPhone and iPad immediately went to "waitlist" and within 2 to 3 hours were ready to initialize Apple Intelligence.

My MacBook Pro 14" with M3 Pro processor and 18 GB or RAM has been stuck on "preparing" since release day (6 days now).

I've tried numerous workarounds that I found on forums as well as talking to Apple support, who basically had me repeat the workarounds that I found on forums.

I've tried changing region to an area that does not have Apple Intelligence and then back to the US, I've changed Siri language to an unsupported one and back to a supported one, and I have tried disabling background/startup Apps, I've disabled and reenabled Siri. Oh, I've restarted a bunch and let the Mac alone for hours at a time.

I've noticed that my selected Siri voice seems to not download.

Finally, after several chats and calls with Apple support, I was told that it's Beta software, they can't help me, and I should try the developer forums.... so here I am. Any advice?

Am I seriously the only one that has this issue? Maybe I wipe my MacBook and start over? Although that will take hours to reinstall everything the way I want it.

I have exactly the same issue unfortunately... and i am not going to reinstall everything. will wait for the 15.2 and see from there...

Same issue since 5 days now. Tried all suggestions listed in multiple forums, but none worked. i noticed that search in the "System Settings" is also not working. I created another user with administrator's right, search works fine but not Apple Intelligence.

Same issue, stuck preparing since nearly 10 days now. now running public beta 15.2 Beta (24C5073e) on a MacBook Pro 14" M1 Max 64gb Ram. still stuck

On my Mac Studio M1 Max - (with same iCloud account) I got the apple intelligence in less than an hour after updating to 18.1

Oh no. It’s disheartening to hear that it is still stuck on preparing despite you moving to the 15.2 beta.

Are you able to download Siri voices? Ex. You change from US Siri 1 to Siri 5.

Having the same issue as well. just updated to 15.1.1 and still stuck. Macbook Air 15 inch M3 chip

I updated to 15.1.1 hoping it would work. No dice. I guess it really was purely a security patch.

I was browsing redit forums and saw a post about deleting files from the Apple Intelligence download location in an effort to kick the process off a new. It still gets stuck on exactly 4.43gb. This is driving me nuts.

I just updated to MacOS 15.2 and Apple Intelligence was immediately activated upon log-in. It appears Apple engineers have fixed the issue with the 15.2 release. Let us rejoice lol.

Apple Intelligence stuck on "preparing" for 6 days.
