Here we go again. 7 days since the last failure. I guess we only find out when our users are complaining since the status is always green and there are no service emails. https://developer.apple.com/system-status/
Weather Kit down again. Tons of 404 error. No system status update
Yes I agree with you, my app doesn't work sometimes because of the error. Users complaining to me and I can't say to my users Apple developers work on the issue. They think this my fault. My app lost 10.000 users because of Weatherkit unavailable. This is the first time that I use an Apple service and will be last.
What's most unbelievable is the absolute disdain and contempt Apple shows to developers by not acknowledging what the developer experience with this API is like, offering their sincere apologies for what they are putting independent developers through, tell us of their plans for fixing it, etc.
At this point, if you're using the API, you should absolutely have a fallback weather source in place.
It's a shame. From Darksky to this? We are almost transited off but I guess the damage has been done. I will definitely sleep better at night knowing that our business no longer depends on Weather Kit.
Is this still down for everyone? Appears to be for me.
Anyone from Apple care to comment? I mean another difference between now and Dark Sky (even at the very end under Apple’s stewardship) is there was at least acknowledgement from the team about downtimes. This happened till the very end when there were two relatively long downtimes in the last week or so of DS API. That seems to no longer be the case? Surely it’s the same team then vs now?
