Here we go again. 7 days since the last failure. I guess we only find out when our users are complaining since the status is always green and there are no service emails.

Here we go again. Looks like Weather Kit is down yet again and the API status shows that it is fine yet again.

Can we expect more outages, 502 errors or laggy HTTP response going forward? I have noticed that Weather Kit has been performing smoothly for the past 24 hours for the first time since Dark Sky was shut down. Additionally, iOS 16.4.1, which is rumored to address Weather Data issues in the Apple Weather App, is now available. Does this mean that the Weather Kit REST API issues have been resolved?
As developers, any information on what happened or what we can expect going forward will be super helpful. Many of us in the Weather Category are small teams or independent developers and we have been working around the clock to implement backups and workarounds, as well as combating 1-star reviews and assuring our users that these issues will be resolved via customer support channels.
Hi all,
We recently completed the transition from Darksky to Weatherkit and have started receiving "inaccurate weather" complaints. We have successfully recreated the problem and believe the cause is stale data being returned.
Weather Kit returns a reportedTime (The time the provider reported the weather data.) in the metadata of each dataset. We are seeing that the value of reportedTime is often up to 2+ hours old. This doesn't matter so much for forecasted data but for currentWeather, forecastNextHour and weatherAlerts its very important to have relatively recent weather data.
Users are expecting to know what the current weather is outside but are receiving information that is 2hrs old. When its raining or snowing outside and we are reporting clear in some cases.
Questions.
Are we doing something wrong or is this by design? This is how we are requesting 👇🏽

When I look at the Apple Weather app the weather appears to be up to date. Is the behavior different for swift? I assume the Apple Weather app is using swift and Weather Kit.
Thanks
