Apple's StoreKit sample code requires distributing license along with app?

The license includes this sentence:

"The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software."

Does this mean the license needs to be included or shown somehow in binary distributions of an app?

Or does this only apply to distributing the source code?

Yes. Typically you’d put it in the app’s Help screen, or similar.

(If you ever need a license that doesn’t require attribution in binaries, use the Boost Licence.)
