Touch ID No longer available in Ventura

Some time after installing Ventura Beta 3 Touch ID went away. I am on an M1 iMac with the magic keyboard. If I look at the touch ID prefs everything except the 2 fingerprints I had registered previously are greyed out - disabled. I have since upgraded to Beta 4 but the Touch ID prefs are still greyed out. Any thoughts?

Yes, I have the same issue, and sometimes the TouchID stop working in everything

Touch ID has returned!! I have no idea why or how this happened but using an app that requires a password entry offered me Touch ID. I then went to the System Setting app and the Touch ID controls were now available to me. This happened a few days ago while still in the previous beta. Most peculiar.

The problem is not only limited to the beta version on the public version it happens sometimes that I do not see the menu to access the Touch ID.
