iOS 16 Home/Lock Screens disables wallpaper choice

Tried the Home/Lock Screen option in iOS 16; decided it is not for me but now cannot simply choose a new Home and Lock from my photos (or whatever). Anyone know how to restore without a complete iOS reinstall? Thanks

PS not only is the 'Choose a New Wallpaper' button gone but Shortcuts to set Home or Lock Screen execute but do nothing...

  • PPS even after reinstalling iOS 16, wallpapers are still stuck on those chosen from the new feature. It is not posable to set Home or Lock Screen to something from Photos and 'set wallpaper' shortcut does not work!
