Blurry Depth Data on iPhone 13

We have been seeing blurry depth map data on iPhone 13's since their release. Unfortunately this makes it unusable for our app.

Previous iPhone models returned sharp, accurate depth maps but the 13 seems to have run a post processing filter over the depth maps and blurred them.

The issue can be reproduced with the Apple sample app: Streaming Depth Data from the TrueDepth Camera

Example comparison:

We have reported the issue to Apple but so far the only information we have is that it's a known issue with no workaround.

Does anyone else know of a workaround? It seems like there should be a flag at driver level to switch the filtering off but I have no idea how to access it.

Regards,

Stuart.

Did you find any workaround or got any reply from Apple? We are having the same issue and it seems the issue still exists not only on the latest iOS versions (16.1-16.2) but also on 14th gen iphones (at least we reproduced it on iphone 14 pro and iphone 14 pro max)

Not entirely sure we are seeing the same problem, but the depth data from iPhone 13 and newer is highly inaccurate as well. I've create a post about it too: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/728992
